Let me be the first to tell you that you are gonna love the sound that it makes, first you hear at around 3700rpms and then it really opens up at about 5000rpms. It's deffinately worth the money in my opinion. I am gonna dyno it as soon as I can to see if horsepower was gained. Trust me your gonna love it man, and you'll probably do the same thing the I did once I got it in there, which was drive around for like an hour or two just listening to it. Anyway hope that you enjoy it, peace:alien:

What kind of money are we talking about? Will you install it yourself? How much should one expect to have it installed?

Hey Hinggu!!!

How much did you pay for you AEM????
I thinking of getting one myself when my car arrives.

One more question: Do you remember how many kms you had on your car when you took delivery??

Let me just say that the AEM CAI is about $250...Also it was kinda hard to get one because they kinda sold out quick...so good luck....Ur gonna love the sound it makes...loud as hell....sounds like a weak exhaust when u get up to 5000rpm.....I can feel a bit of increased acceleration with the CAI, but I haven't had a chance to run it yet....I never got a 1/4 time without the intake so I really wont know how much it helped..but I would recomed getting it...anyways AEM is a good brand

Hinggu

24 kms eh? That's not too bad at all. I've heard people got their's with 100+ k on it. There was one where he had more than 600+ k on it. I don't remember if it was on this forum or not. If mine was like that, I'd probably refuse delivery. I don't want some dirt bag to f**k up my car.

So I'm guessing you own this racing company right?

I will for sure give you a shout when my V gets here.

yeah, make sure you check out the tires, i found out that one of my tires are kindof chewed up because of the car they shipped my car in. also, my car came from manitoba so it has two f**king holes in the bumper. but for sure, give me a shout. and yeah, me and a few buddies own k&s racing development. we basically started it as a hobby, and it proved to be more difficult than i thought

The chewed up tires is kinda of sh*tty.

That's cool that you guy started your own company. I guess if you have to work, might as well do something you love right? I knew some people that tried to do that. But nothing really happened. Guess it's not for everybody.

Will this AEM CAI void the warrenty?
I'm just curious ?

hinggu
06-20-2002, 04:30 PM
from what the dealers told me, this does not void warranty. however, if it is the intake that caused the damage, then it is not covered. more or less, the warranty wil not cover any damages that are the result of after market parts, but if the car does break due on their part, then it is covered

hinggu is right, but some dealers try to trick u so that it'll be the aftermarket part's fault

Hey guys just for a little insider tip.....I called Stillen the other day to order an intake (AEM CAI) and I told the salesman that I found it for $215 here in Louisville, KY and he said "Well if I give it to you for $210 will you order it today....of course I did + $15 for shipping so you might want to use this strategy when dealing with these people....good luck

Brian (2003 Sunburst Spec-V)

I paid $225 for my intake shipped.

yes it will norromaly void warranty but if you have a cool tech he will not care. but i say you are better off taking it off if you need to get warranty work done. Most techs will not due it b/c warranty work pays them half what customer paying work pays so most will call you on intake.

i checked with my dealer and they say it;s alright for the intake. The parts guy and one of the techs drive specs and says its okay as well, so guess i got a pretty cool dealership

Well from what I understand bolt ons are ok for the most part (intake header exhaust and even suspension work) but I think it's things like internals that they frown on (pistons, cams, etc) and oh yea they don't really care for turbos or blowers either....Just my little two cents.:D

Your mod has to be the cause of the problem. If you get an intake and your maf goes, it's not covered. If you get a header and your cat goes, it's not covered. If you get springs and your dampers go, it's not covered, etc. But if you get an intake and your trunk release goes out, then obviously it's still under warranty.

YellowSpec-V
04-05-2003, 07:45 PM
Well yea I understand that...I mean if all you have is an intake header and exhaust and you bend some valves, I don't think the intake had anything to do with that.

sr20de4evr

Chances are that none of the mods caused that, but the problem is that the dealers will try to pin anything they can on your mods so they can get out of doing the work (warranty work pays something like half as much as other work), and they would most likely blame that on the intake even without proof. Technically this is illegal and you could call them on it but it would be too much of a hassle for what it's worth, it would be better to just go to another dealer.

So the AEM CAI boosts your car by how much hp? and if you guys are saying it will make a nice sound, i'll get one too!

Nissan Sales 310
04-10-2003, 09:59 PM
most of the time like 10-15 hp boost but it depends on how much air flow it is getting

sr20de4evr
04-10-2003, 10:12 PM
Actually it's more like 5hp. The sound is so intoxicating though

YellowSpec-V

Oh yea I will agree..the AEM CAI sounds very good..especially at around 5,000 or just when you get on it really hard.
