My son's 4 cylinder 2001 Grand Am SE starts and idles fine. Above 20 mph, or when trying to climb a hill, the motor tries to die out, the Traction Off light comes on solid, and the Service Engine Soon light blinks on and off. Any help is deeply appreciated.

Turned out that it was a clogged Catalytic Converter. I must of stumped everyone.

Thanks for the sediments. One thing that I want folks to know that have problems with the Catalytic Converter is that the garage is putting this under warranty even though we're the 2nd owner of the car! The replacement converter is listed at around $70 at Advanced Auto, while others like the Olds Alero run about $650. Please ask about the warranty if you run into this. It might save you a nice chunk of change. The garage did charge me for a set of plugs and the diagnostics, but really, that's more than fair.
