Hello,
i bought this 92 Sable in hopes i could make the engine run. Well I could not. the car looks good for a 92 but is dirty on the inside. the pervious owner let it sit for 3 years and said now it won;t start...he's right it won;t even turn over :-/. I installed a new starter and battery, along with spark plugs, PCV and air filter. the engine is the 3.8L. The pervious owner said he had th ehead gaskets replaced several months before he parked the car. I'm not a mechanic, but thought maybe i could make it work. The car has a clean title, never been in any accidents according to carfax. It has 134,000 miles. The Sable is loaded with power everything. It even has the rare digital dash and automatic climate control. It's got premium sound system that sounds good. the antenna is broken. Tires look to have plenty of tread and hold air. Hardly any visable rust on the body for the year. Bumpers look good, paint looks good, would be better with a carwash. The negatives about this vehicle is the fact that the engine won;t turn and the CV boots are torn. i don;t know how it drives as I was never able to drive it. The previous owner said he never had transmission issues while he owned it and that it shifted fine when it was parked, but I will not promise anything. The A/C condensor is broken. This car would be an excellent summer project if you have an extra 3.8L laying around, or if you need to use the vehicle for parts to fix another taurus or sable.
I am located in west michigan, near grand rapids, but if need be I have a truck and may be available to deliver the car.

I have spent $500 on the car. Make me an offer. Best offer takes it. Pictures available upon request. E-mail me at TravisN1@ aol.com

The piston rings may be stuck to the cylinder walls. If you can't turn the crank manually then you might be able to squirt some lubricant into each cylinder and let it sit for a few days.

You took the spark plugs out when you did this right? If so, it sounds like you're going to have to try to break the piston rings free somehow.

Any suggestions? I tried a breaker bar on the crankshaft pully bolt, and I put penetrating oil in the cylanders
No spark plugs in it, but still no luck :-/
