Malibu 2001 Air Filter compartment

hey y'all i am just starting to be having to do some stuff on my own to my Mali (01, 3.1) the warranty stuff is ok but small things don't laugh but I am having a heck of a time getting into the compartment to remove and recharge my K&N air filter , I know where it is butI dint put it in the dealer did, and it doesn't tell me much in my manual. I feel really lame not bein able to at LEAST do my own filters. But we all had to start somewhere huh? Next project: fuel filter (uh oh) thanks everyone. Bad :banghead:
