Valve ticking when cold

Hi out there,
Any tips on fixing ticking valves when cold on my 2000 Tahoe with 150 000 km on the meter. I have heard about flushing the oil system...

Is there some valve to keep the pressure up for the hydralic lifters that need repair/cleaning or what?

Grateful to find out if I need to spend a fortune?

yeah my dads 2002 silverado does that a little when its cold. its the lifters or something and is just the nature of the beast ya know. if it just started doing that and never did before tho... then i dunno anything about that...

Hydraulic valve lifters will tick when cold because of wear.They don't hold there oil "charge" but will get charged up with oil again soon after engine starts. Nothing really to worry about. Normally a sign of age.
There are some additives like "lucas" that will help a little or go to a thicker viscosity oil. Again, not a big deal. When they tick all the time then it's time to replace them and mechanics say to replace the cam shaft as well. This is why I've left my truck tick a little at start for a couple of years now.I would rather not tear it apart with 194,000 KM's on it. It still works really good.
