but the ugliest is the 83 stangs and the best is the model used in the second gone in sixty seconds. elenore stole the show

mustang II , bad looks , bad performance

ugliest - sorry highflow, but it has to be the 4 cylie fox bodied notches. I'm sure yours will become a monster of a stang, but in general the notch did not come correct.
foxiest - boss 302 - 351 Not only were they looking tough as fuck, but they were called bosses.

Come on now?!?! The notchbacks look sweet!

I have to say the Ghia and Mustang II are both fugly.

I think the ugly ones are the '70 coupes and the prettiest would be my car. 1965 K code mustang fastback. Or any other fastback from '65-'68

Worst current base model IMO and best 68 fastback.

There is nothing wrong with the classical style. In fact, I wish the Mustangs never really strayed from it outside of the old argument "We're updating". Nothing wrong with the last two renditions of bodies but its just... DAMN.

You see a 65 to a 69 on the street, you can't help but to turn your head.

I hope to get a 66 or 67 fastback with a 289 shortblock, running nice heads and carbed intake, the works. Just a 13 second beast.

The 1971-1973 Cars were the ugliest IMHO. The Mustang II could be quite ugly, depending on the type (Most Ghia's were very ugly), but they could also be nice looking.

Ugliest: I will say the 1971 Base Model Coupe.
Nicest: 2003 Saleen S281 Speedster.

IMO the best stang is 69, I don't care for 68-less cuz my dad had a 67 vert 4 speed and it was too small for me. I don't like 70 either cuz they changed the sweet dual headlights to a single. Don't get me wrong, 67-68 aren't bad, they're just not as good. 66-less are just too damn small. And my dad had a 77 cobra II and a 78 King Cobra, I believe they are better looking (especially the king cobras cuz of the giant snake on the hood) than any 79-up stang until about the year 2000 Cobra R. So I like 76-78 Cobras, I HATE THE GHIAS! They are so fugly. Has to be the fastback, also has to have a spoiler, like the ones on late 70's camaros they just look gay without it.

I agree I don't have my spoiler painted yet the rest of the car is painted but I have yet to paint the spoiler but it is up there on my list.

I just showed my dad a picture of exactly what his 78 king cobra looked like, he almost drooled. He wrecked his. He asked what the HP rating on it was, and I said 139 HP. He said ''get outta here, that thing kicked butt''. My dad has owned a 69 Roadrunner with a 383 magnum, still owns a 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst with a 440 Magnum. So trust me his definition of kicked butt is pretty good. This again proves my point about how late 70's vehicles were underrated.

I like the cobra II better than the king cobra for some reason. I don't know, if I could get the snake decal on the hood and T-tops on a Cobra II that would be the best of both worlds to me.

These Cobras aren't ugly to me, still a Mustang!

Ugliest for me is a wrecked/negelected/riced out mustang, the best looking is a 1969 Mach1

I'll agree with wrecked/riced out Mustangs as being the ugliest. Pretty much any Mustang can look quite good, even the Mustang II and Fox mustangs. Give them the right color, right stance, and right wheels, nad you can have a lot of them that look menacing.
ANd since teh Mustang IIs are now ALL older than 25 years, you dont' have to worry about emissions, so it's easy to make them fast.

I've had 3 '70 Fastbacks (which are my second favorite mustangs, behind teh '66-66 Fastbacks), and built up a few Fox Mustangs (including an '81 with a 600 hp 460 that also pulled over 1 G laterally).

I'd love a Mustang II that looked like this:

the cobra r is sweet! i have seen them for sale as low as $60,000.

half you guys hate the fox body, alot hate the convertables. Guess what i have.... 1983 convertable V6..... oh well im gonna put a saleen kit on to make it look better (dont worry no saleen stickers or anything) and swap in a V8 (thats first on the list), maybe 2 1/2 inch exhaust with headers,high flow cats, borla mufflers. In real life it dosent looks that bad.

I know its a very old thread but hay to me its rare to find mustangers who actualy like any version of th mustangII. and to ShinRekka this is how us in the 2 have felt for a long time. number one all stock mustangs have several diferent things that can make them look good or ugly. personlay my favorite is the 78 cobra has been since i can remember my dad's old cobra know i have one. but the best looking is the 69 fast back.
