A friend of mine told me that if i put a turbo pushing 7 psi on his b18 civic 4-door which would make 250hp he says, he could run 12's all day long and beat my GSX on the 1/4 and the road because of its top end(my best run was a 12.4).
At first i didnt believe him but then i did some thinking and since those things only weigh like half of what my car does (he told me 1500lbs i dont realy know for sure) that he could probably be in the 12's without any problems other than traction.
Anyways, I dont know much about civics and was just wondering if what he says is true.
Thanks

Well its possible on average 1psi= 10hp and then it depends on what b18 he has.. b18a/b 128-142hp and b18c b18c5 180-200hp so u do the math, but 1500pds nah his 4dr prolly weighs about 2100-2400pds.. most Crx's gutted n all weigh about 1800-2000pds.. surely enuff tho even with a b18a and some fuel management and mild mods with 7psi mids 12's is definately possible. U prolly listed what yr GSX u have but i just got done working and im too lazy to click the back button :loser: i would like to have a 1st gen DSM sumday tal/clipse.

it would depend on what all he had done to it. I have seen civic Hatch Backs with B18 swaps and turbos. They usually just hit mid 12's with basic mods. I dont know about a 4 door though. Depends on how good he is at driving and how big of turbo and mods and stuff.

I agree with Kingpinn.. 12's just seem a little too fast for whats he got.. But who knows?

Im sorry, i talked to him again today and he sayd it was a b16 (i think he sayd b16C or D, not sure) but its a 14b turbo with a 3" turboback.

Also ive been doing some more reading and + what you guys sayd and it seems very unlikely that he can even get low 13's without slicks even if he had 400 hp
he would just spin and spin and spin.

BTW my gsx is a 92' :)

buddy of mine is running ls/vtec with a t3/4 hybrid pushing 18psi of boost an hits mid 12s in a 88 4-dor civic.Mind you this was run at LACR so at most other tracks around Cali it would be a low 12.

he should be able to hit 13 with slicks at 7psi, i would say close to mid 13s

Well being a mitsu owner (GS-T) and only useing it for drag racing now. I don't see him gitting into the 12's that easy. First off, you have AWD so you having the same power as me with a FWD you would win, better hole shot. And for some reason there is that little thing called tq that even turbo hondas don't have, and mitsus have a shit load. His 250 hp and maybe just maybe 190lbs of tq. With a mitsu at 250hp and 250lbs of tq. That is what gets you down the track not hp.

and o yeah i'm at a 13.924 with the stock 14b.
