eclipse or talon?

ok,
I did a search on if people prefer a talon over a eclipse or visa-versa.
I know that they are basicly the same. I have got some money saved up and am starting to look and buying a dsm.
So any input on this would be great.

Since they are mechanically the same 100%, its you who has to decide which one looks better to you. What model years are you looking at?

well I'm looking more toward the 2gen.
And I think that the talon looks alittle better to me.
See I called a dude about a eclipse 96 gst and one of my friends said that I sould go with a talon over an eclipse so I was kinda wondering what people on here would have to say about it.

Some people will get cheaper insurance on a talon rather than an eclipse. And sometimes a Talon will cost a little less than an eclipse.

why cheaper insurance on a talon??
I could use all of the low insurance payments I can.

Other than looks, they are the exact same car, just differnt names. If your wallet is thin, then talon will prob save you money on insurance and a little on the inital buy. If you think the talon looks better, then get a talon.

call your insurance and see how big a diffrence it is, if you like one more than the other

When I initially began looking for a DSM, I wanted nothing short of a 98 or 99 GSX... unfortunately it was very difficult to find, if at all, and the asking price as always over 16,500 CDN.

I came across my 98 Talon for 16,900 listed but the Mitsubishi dealership gave it to me for 11,900. Now for an extra 500-600 CDN, I can easily convert to a GSX which would bring my total to under what everyone was asking for.

I love the Talon style also but always preferred the Eclipse's

Insurance is a little more leniant with a Talon also.

Find the best deal, then convert if it's the other.. same car underneath it all. Good luck.

Talon's are cheaper for most people on their insurance because it is considered a domestic to an import, eventhough both of the cars are manufactured in the US.

According to my insurance, the talons were $15 less.

The place that I am going to try to get my talon from is menlove. There is a dude in my neighborhood that I am good friends with and he helps eveyone get a good deal.
I was talking to him and he said that he could basicly find just about any used car cause he has all of the hook up in his work.
