Meaning Of Life

I have thought of this for a while now. I believe the meaning of life is to find out the meaning of life. Sounds twisted I know but bare with me.
I think God placed you on this world with a brain capable of wonders to see how we are able to utilize this wonderful tool to see what we can accomplish. We are put through various challenges and hardships only to get a meaning out of it. If you think about it, how many times have you learned something from a major event in your life? How has that new found knowledge helped with with the rest of your life? We always tell ourselves everything has it's purpose and role in this world, when we find it we then find our meaning of our lives...

I think the "meaning of life" is to find out absolute truth. Its the whole idea behind philosophy, the quest for the truth. The only problem is that many things we will only be able to be certian of after we die. Death regardless of what happens is a philosophers heaven.

Personally I don't want to find the meaning of life, I'm having too much fun living.

Yeah, I'm with the meaning of life... but when you die, everything you learned for yourself dies with it. So I think it's to teach those younger the meaning of life.

Like being a mentor.

why would you want to know? if we knew everything, there would be no point to living. I think philosophy is bullcrap, people think its taking them somewhere, but its a huge circle back to the ultimate wtf.

anyways no matter what you say someone is gonna disagree.

Because its a quest for truth and knowledge that cant be easily attained. Its about figuring out what is right and wrong, its thinking which is what seperates us from every other species on the planet.

Why pursue any kind of knowledge, all we really need to do is eat, breathe, drink, and procreate. Saying philosophy is worthless is like saying that thinking is worthless, so lets just abandon technology and everything we know and go back to hunting and gathering.

Why should we be separated from everything else? We are made from the same ingredients, we are just a little different in a few key areas. I don't see what makes us so special to be separated from everything. Sure technology has improved our lifestyles, but look what we have to go through because of it.... wars, pollution, weapons, drugs, separation of countries, separation from our natural environment... we are no closer to each other than we have ever been in history. I am saying no matter what, life is still gonna have that shitty edge to it, no matter how far technology takes us.

Thinking is a blessing that deserves more respect than any human can deliver.

what is so special about right now? what separates this moment from infinity as being different? Why do you feel like it's your duty to push forward, when you've only been a part of it for what, 20 years?

You know what I do for a living? I make vechicle parts for the US Military. I've never seen a war, I don't care about wars, yet I devote 40 hours a week to the production of it.

We should be seperated from everything else because we have the ability to. If no one ever took advantages of their abilities then there would never have been any progress in human history.

Technology isnt really philosophy I was just trying to use it as an example of how humans are able to think.

This moment is different from every other moment to you in your mind, the only thing you can ever try to know happens in your mind. You can accept that in the greater scheme of things this moment is no different than any other moment but I honestly dont think you believe that or else you wouldnt have ever thought about this, this wouldnt even be a question to you since you would know that this moment has no bearing on anything else.

I try to push forward to help mankind. I am in school to become a physical therapist, not the sports trainer type physical therapy but more like wound care, burns, etc. I feel as though I can make a positive contribution to someones life who is struggling through something that they didnt choose.

There is a little bit of a philosopher in you because you are thinking about things like this. Embrace it, its good for you.

This moment must be as important as all others because it exists. It really is a great opportunity to witness humanity on a gigantic scale. I just think that harder we push forward for peace/meaning, the more war/confusion we are going to create.
