just raced a srt4

I just raced an Srt4 about 30 minutes ago, sadly the only thing i was thinking of while doin it was "Yes now i have something for AF"

Here we go
I walked out of a gas station and a Srt4 with body graphics(respectbale ones) hummms by following a car on its ass waiting to pass. Natuarlly I am intrigued, So i jump in the car and get in line behind the Srt4. When i see an option to pass in the oncomin lane I do it (passing the srt4 and the other car) and the srt4 jumps out after i pass him and follows suit were coming right up on a turn then a long straightaway. I hit the turn pretty hard at about 110 and pull a lil on him in the turn but he keeps suit. After the turn on the straightaway i slow down to 80 and there is no oncoming traffic, so he jumps out into the oncoming lane and hits it. He gets about half a car before i slip the clutch in 4th and punch it. I pretty much got my half a car back that second and pulled him all the way home until I shut it down at 140. I probably had 3-4 car lengths on him.

Tehe, I purposely raced him higher up cause i figured I'd have a better advantage. But I would have enjoyed racing him from a dig.

Well they are pretty fast, but they are no race car, and they certainly cant take out a modded VR4 or even a stock one for that matter. Go race him and make a couple hundred. I seriously think its the boost that gets to their heads.

I've had my share of SRT-4 owners who are very arrogant. Just cause they got 20 grand to throw on a car that comes stock with boost, they think their the shit and own the road. :screwy: But yeah I'm sure you and your co-workers would be a good race.

srt-4 owners do think they own the road don't they. Opening night at the local track i was watching the first 1 or 2 hours of races trying to find someone worth running who wasn't in mom or dads car. i picked out a silver srt-4 that was allright. after asking the guy in the stageing lanes after his last race if he wanted to run down the track with my 96gsx he told me he didnt want to waist his gas, that he was in the 12's with greddy bov,3in pipes, full suspention, wheels, fmic.

kinda made me blink my eyes a couple of times, i just walked away.

Its my best friends co worker, I told her to tell him that his neon is slow so we'll see :).

those srt4s are pretty quick. definetly a steal for the low price tag. and yea they (drivers)are pretty cocky..of course i can't put them in their place, but its always nice to see them get embarrassed ^.^

Whats with all the Srt-4 h8? Yeah there are some dooshbags with Srt-4's but that doesn't mean all of them are.

You would be very suprised how quick the Srt-4 actually is. It would give many of you a run for your money.

Thoron i have raced a vr4 from a roll with my Stage 1 Srt-4 (RIP) and i was pullen on him. Watch out for the Srt-4, he gets you from a roll he will beat you.

Sadly too I know that feeling when I race (finally something to post on AF :lol2: ) Just because they want to race doesn't mean they're automatically cocky, but yeah most are very cocky. Like was said already I can't put them in their place either. Good Kill.

i've met only one owner of the many SRT's that i've raced. He was 'ok'. Back when my stang was bone stock those SRT's would beat me bad. I gave him props for his car and he just kinda shrugged me off. Like, "yeah whatever go away now". That stuff don't really bother me but just that ive had that kind of experience with the owners that you guys describe too. On a side note, there are a lot of arrogant mustang owners out there too.

i ment a few cool srt-4 owners driving down the mainstreet and i see two srt-4s in the shopping center with a lt-1 camaro and a civic. i pulled in the parking lot and saw someone i knew started chatin and a guy in the srt4 walks over and says that he really likes my car and he likes the little exterior things i have that make it different but not flashy. (fire pony, custom air brushed liecense plate, blackouts)thats all i had at the time. we chated for awhile and i said is that ur srt4 thats liesence plate says srt48u. he said yeah and we walked over and he said u can sit in it if u want sat in the driver seat and he explained all his buttons stage one kit so he had the boost controler the race gas button fmic water spayer etc and showed me how all of them work etc. he was running low 13s with drag radials. Beat a corba with a pulley swap to about 60 65 mph had a video of it but after that corba got to in the 50s it reeled him in real fast and passed him at a good pace. he said he was running 20 psi i think?

not all srt4 drivers are dicks shoot ive raced dickhead srt4 drivers in my srt4 and sadly on a stock for stock run it seems im the better driver. then when we pull into a pakrling lot they are like "yeah i got stage one and etc..." them im like "no you dont, if you had all of that stuff you've would have me for lunch" sadly enough every brand has there set of dickheads

The reason SRT-4 owners think thier cars are fast is cause THEY ARE FAST! stock those cars kill anything else in thier class. The fact that they can harrass V8s like Camaros and Mustang GTs makes them that much better. when was the last time you saw a lightly modded Focus SVT or a SE-R Spec V walk a 350Z?
yeah they are cocky but if I had 4-banger econobox and pulled on a "sportscar" twice as expensive as mine I'd be hella cocky too.

I havent seen many cocky Srt4 owners, then agian i havent seen many srt4's however there are cocky ignorant owners in everybrand, Some Ls1 guys are complete assholes. The most cocky people ive seen however are boxter and boxter s owners. Those guys are pretty much always pricks who dont know anything about what their driving, and when they spanked they go crying home to daddy. Go browse over in the boxter forums and youll see what im talking about.

And dont even get me started on GN owners, complete mouse fucking aholes, no exceptions. And none of them have any knowledge of cars what so ever. They shouldnt be allowed to poke shit with a stick, let alone drive.

9-10 srt-4s have the stock exhaust, the exhaust is loud as hell stock. it has no mufflers just to resinators.

all it takes for a Srt-4 to beat a sti from a roll is stage 1. the are real close on hp numbers to the wheels with a stage 1 srt-4. But the Srt-4 is a little lighter.

I used to own an '04 SRT-4. It had stage 2 and exhaust when I sold it. I had a couple good kills. I remember beating a 350Z in close race when I was stock. I also got a few of my coworker's cars when I was still stock...'95 Z28, '04 RX-8 and an '04 Civic Si. When I had stage 1 and exhaust I beat a G35 Coupe w/exhaust and intake. I also pulled on an E46 M3 vert from about 60-100mph. Maybe VANOS ddn't kick in because every bimmer owner I've told that story to calls BS. :p I also raced another 350Z three nights after I got stage 2. It was a raping. When I had stage 2 and exhaust I also pulled on a '04 GTO out on the freeway.

So needless to say the SRT-4 is one helluva car. Putting all that power to the ground w/FWD is rough, but out on the freeway the sarty4 has few equals. And {sigh:rolleyes: } not all SRT-4 owners are cocky. It's just that for a lot of them this is their first fast car. Try to remember how most of you acted when you got your first quick ride. :iceslolan

I have no doubt that it's truely a good race with a modded SRT-4 against a STi. The reason why I questionned the whole thing is because he made it seem like stock SRT-4's are able to take down stock STi's.

I like the SRT-4's, they just aren't my thing when it comes to cosmetics...but hey, no arguing they are worth the money.

Anyway, for a daily drive they aren't bad little cars. If you're looking for a performance buy I'd rather take the 20 grand a get a LS-1 SS or an '03 Cobra.

the STI is stock, the SRT-4 I have no clue. we just ran into it on a highway and he walked away preaty good.

I guess it relly depends on what you want or like in a car. My only gripe with the SRT-4 is that its FWD. I’m a German car guy so of course im all about the purity of racing. And when it comes to sports cars FWD is just inferior.

I think I read it on these boards initially, but Alfa Romeo and their FWD cars are beating BMW's in European racing. I'm not trying to say FWD > RWD, but there are some great FWD platforms out there. The Ford Focus RS is another one that's been called a "driver's car" for it's acceptional handling and acceleration capabilties.

Thats very believeable. I raced my friends stock STI about 2 weeks ago, and my mods at the time were 3: downpipe, stage 1, and aem short ram intake. we went from 50 to about 130 an I pulled about 1.5-2 cars on her. And yes its a her and yes she can drive, she ran a 13.3 stock, and no i dont have her slips to prove it, but i was at the track the day she ran it, and shes one of the very few girls I ever seen who knows how to race. I do have this race on video, I just dont have the cables to hook my video cam up to my comp. And im not a cocky srt-4 owner either. When I pull up so certain cars to race, I get nervous cus I know I cant beat everything out there...I've been owned cy unexpected cars before, such as a 95 civic hatch (didnt kno he was type r swapped supercharged), bmw z8 which I knew was gonna own me, 92 gti (vr6 turbo) and worst of all, it was like a 97 saab and I know the kid too, he just decided to shut his mouth about making his car a sleeper, and he did a good job with that.
