Hello to everyone viewing this post. I went today to look at a 1990 240sx local to my area. I'm mostly interested in the car itself and not the motor because I will be doing the sr20det swap. A few questions though...When the guy started the car, after he reved the motor the electrical stuff cut on such as the windshield wiper blades. He said he has to rev the motor for the electrical stuff to get working. I thought to myself alternator. What do you guys think? He said the guy that owned the car before had a lot of subs and crap like that in there...but he said to his knowledge nobody had cut any wires or tried to rigg anything. I'm looking to purchase the car for $900...he said he just put a new cluth, pressure plate, throwout baring, and fuel pump on the car. I would appreciate any useful information you guys could provide me with! Thanks again for taking your time to help me out!

hmmm it just sounds to me like theres a short somewhere or lose wire or something. When removing the audio shit, he may have snagged a wire or something. Although my first setting on my windshield wipers doesnt work at all....just the second and third settings work. So this could just be a common (yet random) problem with the design maybe. But if no settings work at all well then thats weird if he has to "rev" it up to make them work. Sounds odd.

Sounds like what happened to my car when I shorted the alternator to ground with a screwdriver by accident. Ended up being a fubar'ed alternator fuse. I could rev the engien and stuff would turn on. IDK weird
But check out grounds. Could just be corrosion or somthing.
