Forza Motorsports for the xbox

The review vids I've seen on this game have been crazy, is anyone planning on getting it?

i am but im broke right now, no rush but whenever i get money is when i'll do it, looks good, i like the fact of online play mostly but i really do wonder if it'll be realistic enough for what i like

I picked up this game today. Its incredible. As a comparison between Forza and GT4, they are very close. Sad news, for GT4 fans, I think Forza is more realistic. I've driven many of those cars in real life, and its so realistic. The cars are unpredictable, they sound very real, and they drive just like they would in real life. The 944 turbo that I drove on the game was dead on. I did revved it to about 5000rpm, and let off the brake. It did a nice burnout, and the rpms dropped to 3000, it started out weak, but the turbo spooled and the car pulled away hard. It was beautiful. IT handled just right too, and the rear end swayed out, if you gave it too much gas going around a corner.
On the game you can adjust tire pressure, traction control, and stability, so you can play around with the settings. Only thing that wasn't realistic was hp gains. Simple mods gain you 20+hp on small 4 bangers. Motor swaps are awesome. First thing I did was a nsx motor swap into my acura 3.2 cl.

Its an awesome game, pick it up. Its difficult though, more so than gt4 by a long shot.

i think i'll rent it because i get that for free, if i like i'll buy it, but for me live for speed does it, but i'll check it out, main problem is i hate xbox live because im not able to change my gamertag, and i didn't even choose it, someone else chose it and i just cant stand the name (dumb chicken)

The game itself is pretty decent. The cars slide around a lot more, even with racing slicks.

The car I have that I like best is the 240 SX SE with an RB26DETT in it. 763hp/680lbft of torque, all to the rear wheels. It has no problem hanging the tail out at 150. I have it geared for 200mph, and it does that pretty easily.

It's well worth the money to buy it, if you have the extra cash. I cashed in my change jar, and picked it up. At least the vehicles sound realistic. Some of the mods don't add realistic horsepower levels, but I guess you can't ask for much. The body panel upgrades are name brand stuff.

I get irritated when my little 02 Mugen Integra Type-R blows the front tires off in 4th gear, but I guess with 608hp on tap, and being only front wheel drive, and having it geared for 185mph in 6th, I should get used to it.

You can up the difficulty level by turning off options like stability management, traction control, anti-lock brakes, and turning the AI setting up to Hard. The only thing I left on, was the driving line, because it's hard to see where the track turns, on some of them. And the brakes don't take much to lock up, you can BARELY press the button, and lock up your brakes.

Can sombody shed some more light ont he tracks and the engine swap system thing? Thanks

Wow, i saw it in future shop so i pulled a "what the hell" and bought it. Great game, good sound, handling, and great customization. I just have some questions for those who have it.
How do you unlock engine swaps?
and is it possible to sil-eighty a 240?

I don't know about "unlocking" I had it available on the 240 SX SE when I got it. Supposedly you are able to supercharge the 00 Cobra R, but I don't have that option available. You can also do an engine swap on the Subaru 2.5 RS. You can only use motors from the same manufacturer, but it doesn't really matter. Not all vehicles will be able to do engine swaps. I'm sure a lot of the Honduh's will have it, as that's a popular "mod" for those guys.

only soem cars have engine swaps avalible and if you do swap an engine there are only some engien yhou can chose from for you car and it will be made by the same manufacture, if tyou play online add me im D1 Drifter

Bought this game on the 5th and have been blown away ever since. The game never ceases to amaze me.

Naturally, my car of choice was the 1990 Mazda RX-7 Turbo II. Just gave it all level 2 upgrades (no engine swap) and the little bastard just flies through the downhill courses. Loving the sound of the new turbo spooling up, too.

It's confusing going through the car screens, though. How the hell did Microsoft sort these things?! Why not just show everything alphabetically, or by power output, or SOMETHING. I don't get it.

I'm in love with their little bonus system. By setting certain options on and off, you can get more money out of races. They actually give you more money for drifting!

The AI is fun to mess with, too. I set the difficulty way low and watch the opponents' cars jumble through the corkscrew on Laguna Seca... almost always resulting in a giant pileup that I can just coast by. Hilarious.

This game is along the lines of Rallisport 2 in it's greatness. Almost flawless, and fun as hell to play. Two thumbs up. :)

I don't have an Xbox but it looks like everyone really likes it.

yea i have been waiting for this game for a while on the xbox because for the past 5months its just been sitting there because of no games im into, still havent gotten it tho, lol.

I got it on the 6th and its crazy. I cant stop playing it.

It's a great game, I like my focus svt with a contour svt swap.

Just got a Ferrari F40 to add to my ever growing collection of Ferraris.

Best run so far was all 13 miles of Nurburgring Nordschleife in a fully upgraded Porsche 911 GT2 versus a team of 360 and 355s. Amazing race, it was.

I finally got pissed b/c of none of the local places having it to rent so i tried one of those free 2 week trails for online renting just for it. So if i like it i'll be buying it.

the game is nothing short of amazing, engine swaps visual customization, and choosing where you set up shop is an awesome feature (you choose North America or Japan or Europe) and from there it affects which cars cost wat (example is that ferraris and porsches are cheaper if you live in Europe) the rarity is also nice, customizing your car makes it rarer, and increases the amount of payout for races, it's all the small details that make this game great in a big way

yeah i need to go buy it now. I miss my 500hp 2 rotor turbo miata. That son of a b*tch was raw a drift only machine.

Great game to buy, have 60+ cars in my garage all of which are fully upgraded. I have a couple of "same" types of cars, but my garage is ever growing and can only get bigger. Everything is this game is great, the custom audio, custimization, tuning, races, cars, glowing brakes when pushed to hard. Totally awesome, even how some body pieces will actually make your car worse is cool.

Amazing game. I currently am playing with a Ferrari F355 Challenge that does 220mph.

My only complaint is that the AI knows how to piss you off. A few days ago I was on the last lap on Laguna Seca when a C6 Corvette I had been fighting off decided to bump me... while I was turning left into the corkscrew. I spun out and managed to recover but couldn't pass the C6 Corvette to win. Right before the Corvette went over the finish line the computer pulled the e-brake and made it do a perfect 360...

So it's an awesome game. Get it.

havn't ever seen the cpu do a donut b4 the finish line but certaily they will bump u and its not like the Gt4 i'm on rails bump its a hey u pissed me off bump.

My AI did a 360 when it bet me too once.

What's the deal with the Decals? There's no Nismo, Spoon, Ralliart, Mugen, Advan, all the good JDM companies aren't there! The list of the manufacturers is the same as the ones in NFSU, most of them are just second rate domestic companies. And does anyone play without the driving line? I find it impossible to see where I'm going without it! In GT4, you can see everything perfectly tho. And what's up with using PS to sho engine power? They wanted to be so JDMtyte, but no one can understand what the fuck yoru engine is putting out!

Mine was hp and lbs to start with idk whats up with your copy. i can race w/o the line. Also has body else tried the drivtar transmission trick? its great.

Just got level 22 earlier today, and went out and got a racing wheel. Damn, the game is so much harder with the wheel. I wish they would make a 900 degree wheel. I really can't wait till I get the 427 Cobra though and the F40.

I believe there's more than enough room for every car. I have mid 70's I believe and my garage worth is about 10mill.

To change from metric (kW for power, Nm for torque) go to the options menu, HUD menu then switch to imperial. This option is not available during a race; you can only switch it from the main menu.

240SXSlideStar-The Exige kicks ass in this game with it fully modded and tuned. It's prolly my favorite car in my garage at the moment.

set your final drive all the way to the right i think the set u gears so you go throw all five/six but top speed is like 50mph then when u go throught th curves *on free training* slightly push in the break very slighty that way the drivtar is being told u are going and breaking at the limits of the car. And he will do the same. Also if u do it this way u can creat you own line and he follow it instead of the suggested line.

The worst thing about this game is how they underplayed the Ford GT! it should be way faster than it is.....corvettes dont have shit on the GT.

a C6 Z06 would be a fun match for a gt. But then again look at Gran Turismo and the ford gt alot of ppl despised the ford gt on there.

I bought the game a little while ao (i think 2 weeks) and haven't played it much (got a job) but i had some progress done from when i was renting it like every weekend lol. there're a few glitches though, one day i was driving, i forget what track it was, and the ground just disapeared, i was like weird, then the next lap at the same place it did it again lol, but not since then. also if you get a golf vr6 i think it is, buy all the engine upgrades (so lvl 1,2,3 of everything including turbo and supercharger) then buy the other engine, install the stock engine (without reapplying the upgrades) then you can sell the other engine for alot of money but just buy it for like 2500. you can do the same with the corvette z06 for even more money (100,000 i think every time)

OUCH! That has to suck. I just got to level 30 and unlocked my wonderful over powered unsteerable 427 Cobra. That set of races is quite possibly the hardest ever since it's unmodified.

the thing i hate is that my drivatar sucks, it used to be good but now it seems to overshoot every turn and go on the grass, it seems that since i got it better (i think it's 85-89 overall) it screwed it up or something.

I like my 553 hp vw beetle turbo s and the Xj220 top speed 260 mile per hour.

beef_bourito is this with powerful cars or just even the more lame hp cars. Mine did the same thign when i moved into more powerful cars all i had to do was train him with those cars and walla. Also if want to go a cheaper way bout it check gamefaq.com for the drivtar glitch/hint/cheat thing.

Forza rocks, I'm glad Xbox finally has an awesome sim racer to compete with the Gran Turismo series. Anybody ever play Sega GT 2002? It was ok, but no where near Forza or GT4. Anyway I stopped playing Forza for a few months, but I'm going to start again and play all the way through this time. Hardest series for me was the old American Muscle one. :banghead:

sorry to bring this back up, but i have had the game since the day it came out. haven't been plaing it much, but im only at level 47 driver. i have a numerous numbers of cars, and i haven't heard of the drivatar trick. the only thing i don't like about it is that if you turn off ABS, then there is no way to feel when they will lock up like in the car i drive. id say my favorite car for D class would be the miata mx-5, C class is the Fc rx-7, class B i have no idea, class A is my Fc engine swapped miata, class S is a hard one since i can bearly control the dang things when it has so much hp at the rear wheels expessally in the viper vs. vette races.

swap in the Sti engine into the 2.5 rs impreza and you'll be amazed on the speed off the jump @ 5k rpms. it only sux at turning. i gues my fav S class car is my zonda since i can control it really well. only thing is that the speed 12 can pass me with ease. im going to be going onto xbox live soon since the parents are getting road runner back up again. can't wait to see the game on 360! This game is a must get.

o and for sega GT2002, i got it the first day it came out as well fo 50bucks. i loved the game but was pissed since no one could keep up with me that i knew. my favorite fastest car all around (excluding the 1/4 mile) would be the R30 skyline. just get all the upgrades for it and stiffin up the suspention all the way, it handles like a dream and takes turns with ease. Crazer if you have sega gt online id be happy to play you :)
