Heh, heh.. yeah, I feel pretty stupid on that one.. i had been drinking a little and couldn't think of the correct term (Valve Stems), even though I have known it for decades.. The lesson here... don't drink and post.. http://bhop73.com/stuff/forumfun/icons/893Doh-thumb.gif

Hey, it's been quite a few months.. I had to put the Eclipse aside for a while due to other projects that kept coming up, but now i'm back on track. I finished the engine bay and mounted the hood pins on the hood. They're actually workable, although, seems to be very fragile.

Here you can see the hood closed:

And here are the pins with it open.

Here's a closeup of the hoodpin bracket that sticks through the hood.

And here are a couple engine shots. I added a lot of wiring and hoses, a coolant overflow bottle (near the front, the white thing), an oil dipstick and there's some turbo piping that you can't really see as well as some shift linkage, but you can't see that either.

So that's it for now. I have to finish the sunroof, the body trim, and a few other things, but it's nearly done I think. The engine was the big work i've been procrastinating on and now that it's done, i'm hoping it'll be smooth sailing from here on out on the car itself. I have a base planned with a couple figures though, so that might take some extra time.

later,
b.

All right! Good to see this back on the front burner! It looks awesome! Very realistic, the subtleness of the engine bay makes it look great, all the little details. And those hood pins are the coolest thing I've seen in a long time, you should do a write up :naughty: Did you add a wategate actuator to the turbo?

BTW, any reference yet? Is it possible to get an underside shot? Thanks

Looks awesome, can't wait to see it finished!!!
