signal lights

Hi i have a 1997 escort and trying to change the right rear signal light.Does anyone know how i get the lens off,I called a ford dealership here in ottawa and they would not tell me how,Said i had to bring it in and have them look at for a price.I think this is ridicoulas i changed lights in my other cars no problem.Any help would be great

Take the two screws out on the inside of the lens. There are 2 pins holding the lens in on the right side. They are angled towards the front
of the car. Hit the back of the lens with the palm of your hand moving it toward the side of the car. It should just pop out on the right side. If you don't get it the first time hit it again. It will pop off. Don't try to pry it off with a screwdriver because the pins are angled. Really, it will pop off.
