I have a 1994 Camaro with a 3.7 v6 everytime i go to start the car it backfires and will not start, i have had it checked at the chevy dealer on the computer and everything is fine, can anyone suggest something else that may be the problem, all fuel lines and injectors are good and so is the fuel pump.
Please Help. This is my show car i use in car shows.
Thank you.

Well, you first problem could be the fact that you have a 3.4L V6, not a 3.7 It could be a problem with spark or timing check both and let us know.

How about your spark plugs, if one side of them is wet and the other is dry then you got the same problem I do, and to fix it its costly.

No that has also been checked everything has been gone thru even the map sensor has been check and it is good i still do not know why it is doing this.

Well, an engine basically needs four things:
1. Air
2. Fuel
3. Spark
4. Compression
My only advice would be to troubleshoot through all those things and try to figure out what is not right with those things... The trouble is that with all the electronics on cars now sensors can read funky stuff and screw with one of those things. So it could be as simple as some sensor that is broke.
Good luck, get back to us with anymore questions and let us know what happens too.

make sure your knock sensor connection is good it may need a new pig tail. if it has a bad connection or the sensor is bad it will retard the timing at start and cause your backfire.

Chevydog, this thread is over 5 months old. We try not to bring up old stuff like this up again in the forum it just clutters stuff up...
