GREAT book. More info on miscellaneous forms of forced induction than anyone should ever want to know. Have a great quote I thought I'd share with you guys...
"When properly sized and calibrated, a turbocharger will deliver outstanding performance while demanding few concessions. A turbocharger is more efficient than a supercharger, both thermally and mechanically. Capitalizing on the laws of thermodynamics, a turbocharger takes advantage of heat energy that would otherwise be wasted. From a purely mechanical point of view, a turbocharger reacts to load rather than engine speed, which means it does not impose a load penalty on the engine unless it is making boost. For these reasons, a turbocharged engine an deliver optimum fuel economy and pleasing drivability when operating in a naturally aspired mode..."

Pick the book up!

I have a bunch of books in my little "wish list" thing on Amazon...most of them having to do with cars. That Maximum Boost book is already in there, actually.

If anyone would care to buy me anything off that list, feel free...:p

Lol...right...nothing to do with cars, huh? Of the 13 books I have on there, 11 of them are automotive related...
"Race Car Aerodynamics", "A Guide to Turbochargers and Superchargers", "How to Make Your Car Handle", etc...
Tis good shit...I'll buy you a valve spring...what you buying me?

Pick the book up!
Earl Davis's book is great and is being updated as we speak. It was written in 1999 and published in 2001. It contains tons of great reading and can't wait till the new book comes out. Since this book was published many engineering changes have been made but it's still a great foundation for anyone interisted in supercharging a engine.
