Alrighty then here are the stats for the Saleen 05 and design assumptions:
-0-60 2.8sec (record for production)
-0-100 6.5 sec (" ")
-0-100-0 11.2 (" ")
-750hp power design goal
-700ftlbs torque design goal
-Top speed... the top speed of the 2001 & 2003 was set at 223mph which was the highest speed the vehicle could attain at zero ambient wind at running conditions and thus was set to the redline speed in 6th gear. Expect the same for the 05 with a difference of 130 lbs of torque and 175bph. The design goal is to beat the Bugatti Veryon when ever it gets around to being released (254mph).
-Also remember that the coefficient of drag was lowered 40% in the redesign. (In lay terms I believe the old engine in the new body might beat the Veryon, now add those stats)
-Steve Saleen and Saleen Inc.'s outright goal is to become a true leader, like the one outlined in the letter "The Penalty of Leadership" If you don't know it look it up, it’s an old school ad from Cadillac.
-If you beat the competition you must strive to beat yourself

Ohh yea and to all you Enzo fans, I'm sorry your car looks like crap. I don't know how Ferrari, builder of the F50 can screw up so badly. If I had one I'd have to go find the nearest tree!
And for the Mclaren F1, Nice looks but just like girls LOOKS GET OLD! Mclaren wanted to produce a top end car to improve their company value. Notice the $$ partnership with Mercedes, suddenly all the R&D seems worth it. With nothing significant brewing in their shop on the F1, it’s a dying relic. Their only way to top what they have done is start from scratch. For them there is no reason to.
(although keep an eye on a collaborative effort from Mclaren and Mercedes once the F1 is officially left in the dust)

Very well said! Well, I love the Enzo but really love the S7 and can't want for the "Mustang" builder to rule the GD Europeans! Steve S is a modern day Enzo Ferrari... he's a racer who builds cars to support the racing effort. The S7 is no Vector... it's an amazing car built by an established car company and it's 100% made in the USA!
One thing though, the collaborative effort between Mclaren & Mercedes has come to an end. No Gen2 F1 will be coming any time soon. Apparently, they had gone a ways into the next project but just couldnt justify the costs.
Something people rarely mention is what a failure the F1 was. An amazing car to be sure but the plan was to produce 300-400 and they stopped due to a lack of demand. The car was ahead of its time... not a good thing from a business prospective.

:cwm27: Your talking about the Veyron like its accomplished its goal :cwm27: The veyron got up to around 230 before body panels started flying off the car :rofl: The world record top speed holder is the Koenigsegg CCR. Then the mclaren F1. The Veyron will never reach more then 218 due to drag and saftey limitations from the company. Ask for the S7 TT. I love the car but the engine will most likey not be geared that high.

Ask for the Enzo its looks are shit but its track performance is stunning. The enzo is designed with ferraris F1 team and also tuned by M.S him self. I really wouldnt be degrading a car that was designed by possibly the greatest racer of all time. There is no other car that can run same lap times with TCF on as it can off.

If you want to compare Steve to anybody I'd say hes the new Age gordan murray.
