Driving home late saturday night on the highway, this Prelude comes roaring by me(looks like it's been lowered with exhaust and a really ugly spoiler). Then he procedes to slow down and wait till I catch up to him. I was tired and i didn't feel like racing anybody that night but he kept flying by me and then slowing down so I could catch up. Finally I give in. I drop it into fourth and than there he goes again. He's about four car lenghts away when I mash the "go" pedal. And I blow by him like he was in reverse. From that point on he wouldn't even pull up beside me.:D

You're a dork. You've been here for 10 posts and you come in and expect people to give a rat's a$$ if you beat a Prelude or not... Dude, that Prelude could've been automatic, 94 with a dohc non vtec motor.
I know a Prelude that will make you wish you were never born in a race.

Encourage each other? Stupid fuck? You grow some brain cells and go look up the post "2002 Corolla 5 speed vs. Civic DX hatch" and then try to come back and use the words "stupid fuck" and "encourage each other" in a post directed towards me.

S2Corolla- You have not been on here long, so I don't think you have a foot to stand on saying that someone can't post a kill. As one can see, I don't post much, but damn man, anything that someone contradicts you with, you get standoff-ish at the drop of a dime, lighten up dude.
A kill is a kill, let him enjoy it. There's always a bigger fish in the sea.

I'm simply pointing out the fact that I came in, said I beat an Si/some GSR's in my Rolla. Boom, let the flames begin. Guy walks in with an SS talking about smoking a Prelude, oh let's get on our knees and commence the kissing.
YOU flamed me, Polygon on another thread so don't walk in here like you're Jesus or something. You haven't made wine out of water yet.
Who told you to chill out when you were talking trash about Rolla's or putting up posts dissing Rolla S's, just because I came in here with attitude, anyone who races a Corolla because they see the potential of the car, NEEDS attitude, and your golden words aren't going to change that.

Im sure theres probably a 10 second esslinger Zx2, but ill bet the driver doesnt go around bashing everyone else, just because they took the road less traveled. you act all high and mighty, but to tell you the truth, with a 15.5 tons of preludes would hand you your ass so i wouldnt make a big stink. and grow the fuck up.

When did I say I beat a Prelude...? Ha, got you there.
So therefore, you just started a flame by saying a lot of Preludes will hand me my ass.
I know a lot of Preludes will hand me my ass, not automatics though.
---------------------Whoopdeedo? 15.5? was I bragging about it or was I just pointing out the fact that I never got "good kill" when I said I beat an Si?
Bragging would be "I run 15's, what do you run loser?" THAT is bragging.
What I said earlier was not boasting.
Oh and you're just coming up with different shit to say because your halfassed posts can't put up a reasonable response to my arguement about the Corolla thread.
What can you say? Earlier you said "Car enthusiasts encourage each other"
I'm a car enthusiast, I know about vtec, domestics, CVTC, imports...
When I posted a kill I got flamed, not encouraged....
Now reply to my previous statement, not to my sig or to my car.

Secondly, the people on this board can all have civil conversations without resorting to flames, and one-up comments, but it seems that you, S2Corolla, have difficulty, straying from that kind of thing. Don't think I'm the only one here that has noticed this either. Your posts and threads are filled with going back and forth about how your comments/positions are never wrong. I've got news for ya pal, you're not infalible.
Third, when it comes down to it, this is still a Honda board, so don't go around acting like you own the place. When it comes down to it, you're ranked in the same category as I, not one of them. I can respect that, seems like you feel you have something to prove. Prove it on the street or at the track.
To quote, when you make a comment like "we don't give a rats a$$", make sure that you know of what you speak. Don't even think about grouping me in the same category as you. You are what makes car enthusiasts cringe. You've got some work to do before you will be taken seriously, on and off the board.

3 points I have to make:
1. He never said anything derogatory towards Hondas or Preludes...he was talking about the idiot driving the car.
2. I know you've announced that you're now a converted Hondaphile. Nazi's loved their race. They took it a little too far...get my point? No need to be so adamant. The smarter your answer is, the dumber the opposition looks, ifyouknowhatImean. Quit making the people opposing/objecting to you look smart
3. We are car lovers in here. Peterparker's car may be a domestic...I love fast cars...his car is fast...therefore, I love his car. You should too. Doesn't mean you love your car or Hondas any less. Polygon's car is another matter.........:D.
If you don't tone down...we'll leave it at that.
Edit: P.S. Nobody doubted that peterparker's car can win the race portrayed in his particular post. Many doubted yours. There's also the tone of the post you were reffering to. Trust me, peterparker's tone of writing is a LOT more calm and Honda friendly than how yours sounded when you first posted.

Because nobody felt the need to defend you. You're aggressive tone gave the impression that you can handle yourself.
The other newbie gets defended because A, he was very matter-of-fact and not aggressive, and B, he never attempted to get aggressive back, regardless of whether he just wasn't here to defend himself or not.

Okay fine I was aggressive.
I raced a Corolla and had to deal with Civic drivers at the race spot whenever I won... You tell me if you don't believe that can get a little hectic.
What would happen to you if you beat a 1999 Prelude Non Sh stickshift in a focus zx5 wagon????
Oh and above where i said even carrnut flamed me, that was in reference to the "think i can beat a 2002 Corolla manual" and the flipping off face was to the people who DID flame me ont he board

You need to re-write your definition of flame. I wasn't trying to flame you, I was checking you, as I am checking you now. You may feel flamed, but that is a totally different matter. Do not feel like you're being picked on, because you are not...if you step back a little and take a wider look at things, you will realize that you mostly brought this on to yourself. Like I said in those posts above, you need to start wording/expressing yourself better.
P.S. I wasn't a mod during those posts either. You helped me become one...think about that.

People are always making assumptions like that.. "the driver in the prelude was being all cocky" for all we know the guy in the prelude just put on headers and an exhaust and was looking for a race to see if his car would keep up knowing very well he was going to lose. I've had mustangs and camaro's rev at me and i humored them and gave it a go just for fun. I knew i was going to lose but it didnt bother me. I've also revved at corvette z06's and a porsche 911 turbo's. does that make me a dick? I dont think so. again, i knew i was going to lose but it was awesome to watch those cars tear off the line. The point i'm trying to make here is that until both people are here to tell their side its all heresay, and the arguements are pointless.
I say congrats to Peter Parker for the win but as a side note for you and everyone else i would like to say:
if you didnt want to race in the first place you shouldnt have given into his antagonization. You knew you would smoke him and in my opinion that should be enough for you. I know its hard to pass up teaching other people lessons when they step up to you but that lesson you teach them could be YOU getting pulled over and arrested while he manages to somehow get away or YOU getting sideswiped by a sport utility while your going over 100 mph. I'm sure you guys are all as careful when you street race as i thought i was but the other night i was almost the cause of a wreck when some guy in an accord stepped up to me and although i didnt want to race i gave in. An SUV pulled out in front of us while i was schooling his ass and i had to slam on the brakes, let the accord pass and duck behind him to avoid plastering myself into the SUV. I'm not trying to take the jam out of anyones donut here. I street race and i try to be on empty highway or backroads with no one around when i do it. but it only takes one car to pull onto the road, one deer to be crossing the highway, or one cop with a radar gun to turn the situation real ugly.
thats all i have to say about tha'at

First of all i wasn't disrespecting anyone here . I assumed he was bein cocky cause PeterParker didn't want to race. Either he's cocky or he's the type of guy the would keep on buggin you. I don't even bother racing somebody that i know that i'll lose. Its pointless. I am totally against street racing no matter if its an empty road or your alone. ANYTHING GOES ..even if you're alone. You can break an axle or parts from your car that will cause you to lose control or distract you of whats goin on. I only street raced like 12 times? I stopped after hearing all this ppl gettin hurt stuff or getting caught by the cops. Now that guy in the prelude that i assumed bein cocky goes out for anyone who is doin the samething. Like i was like that before when i had an intake and i used to think my car ( stock si ) was all that. When i compared it to alot of cars then i realized my car wasn't all that.:) I was bein cocky and i started revving at other ppl and to see if they wanted to race. Alot of them didn't even bother to race. I can understand if that guy in the prelude have like built motor or really modified to race the camaros or other domestics or faster imports, but if he only has i/h/e then its not even worth messin around with cars like the camaros etc... You see what i'm sayin..i'm just babblin here but i just think that guy was bein cocky. I would never dare to race the camaro ss or any other big power house cars even with my b16 that i'm installing now. I would only race them if i was totally modified. Oh and bein a good driver on a slower car goin against a faster car is still pointless also.

Racing a faster car when you're a good driver is pointless? That's what driving imports is about.
My friend raced an automatic Z28 in his GSR with a head package, and he took him all the way to 145. It's not pointless.
You should've seen the look on the faces of everyone there when I beat a 1999 Civic Si four times in a row because of his driving. Racing faster cars is WHY we race...
I'm not gonna race an automatic Civic DX, because I know I'll smoke him.
When I get my GSR I'm gonna go heads up with 5th gen Preludes, because I know that if my driving skills are as good as I think they are, I'll have a very good chance. When I get a head package I'm gonna go against Type R's and hybrids, because I think I'll have a shot.
You said you made an assumption, that was your first mistake.
The guy with the Civic Si bet me 150 dollars on the second race, and I knew I could beat him. That assumption bit him in the ass afterwards.

I didnt think you were being disrespectful. And you may be right in your assumption about the guy being cocky. But, I was trying to make a point about how theres more then one way to look at a situation. To you, it might be pointless to race someone thats faster then you. Thats your opinion and your entitled to it. Have you ever played a sport? If you dont play against people that are better / faster/ stronger then you, will you improve? If your the best at something who do you learn from? Its similar in racing. If your going against a car thats faster. you're forced to drive harder / better / faster to keep up. You may not win but your skill level goes up. Catch my drift? In my opinion, its not always about winning or losing. its about having a good time and being respectful to people that take care and pride in their cars.

Ok s2corolla u didn't understand what i said. I said even if you are a good driver in a SLOW car it is pointless to race a guy that has a much more powerful car. It is import to be a skilled driver yes i know that. Say like i suck at driving...so what do i do? I get a faster car cause its a good advantage on my side rite?

I know you didn't say i was bein disrespectful . I just said that incase u guys got the impression that i was.:) Now i do understand about improving yourself in sports. I either build it up or swap it for a powerful motor and build that up. Thats the only way u can improve. I'm glad that we are not dissin on each other and handling this in good matter :D :finger:

Half of these fools flamed me for posting on a Honda/Acura thread that don't even own a Honda/Acura... And if you can't post a decent response to that other than "Oh they don't have to own a Honda/Acura" or "You started it with all your crap"
The guy who started the thread is my best friend, he posted that because I told him to race me, see how he does, and he wasn't sure about it. He KNEW I was gonna beat him but he started that thread on purpose....
I didn't start my crap, someone started crap by saying "it's a corolla whaddya expect"
Oh and Polygon, how fast would your car be WITHOUT that t304 garret turbo? Let me put a full set up t304 turbo on my rolla, even though i'm getting a GSR, and we'll see if you smoke me as bad.
Thanks kidrocket, and what about my car carrrnutt? :D
No as for you S2. After looking throught that link I fail to see where I flamed you. My only post was not a flame and was directed at the maker of the thread, no where in that thread do I even talk to you. As for my car with the Garrett T03, that came on my car stock, so I could car less what my car can do without it. Go ahead and put a T03 on your Corolla and I'll still kill you in a race. If I want I can drive my boost up to 30 PSi on the stock turbo and engine. I don't need to justify my car, I know what I can do with it. It is by no means my dream car, but it is still my car and I like it a whole damn lot.

S2 was the only person who flammed and it didn't even have a point
it wasn't like he wanted to race him it wasn't like he went rice hunting or something the guy persisted to be an ass so he mashed his throttle and showed him why he should stop being a dick.
i'd like to say one thing the only response to S2 i have seen is Chill out
maybe you should hang at OT till you calm down

S2, why do you come in here flaming people and then bitching about people flaming you? YOU started it in this post and the other "flaming heaven". If you don't like it when people do it to you, why do you do it to other people?
And of course Honda drivers are gonna stick up for eachother. This is a HONDA forum. If I went into the corolla forum and started talkin garbage about killing corollas, wouldn't you think they'd get upset? If you don't like Honda drivers, there is a general street racing forum for your posting pleasure.

I'd like to thank everybody who defended me. I had no intentions in putting down preludes or imports for that matter....
I have a great deal of respect for fast cars in general, whether it be a domestic or an import....
I was out looking for a race one night when I got my a$$ handed to me by a NSX with a blower and im not ashamed about it at all. Man that car was quick.

a 200 hp prelude is no match for a 300 hp muscle car. that i will agree to... unless the car is dogged and needs lots of work or the driver stalls out or something... a 108 hp civic is no match for a 200 hp prelude either. but if you think about it the outcome of the races would be about the same. the camaro is about 2 seconds faster in the quarter then the prelude and the prelude is about 2 seconds faster then the civic. Perhaps you feel it would be a waste of time to run against a camaro unless you have your car fully built is understandable. Would you not race a prelude?
Heres a thought... say the dude in the Prelude is having a turbo put in and getting his engines internals all built-up next week. the next time he sees peter parker on the street and they race the outcome might be different. he'll be able to gauge how much of a difference that turbo made even if he still loses without going to the track.

Ok i wouldn't want to race a prelude with my crx si cause i know i'll lose. You don't know if he's gonna put turbo and he didn't have turbo then. I know what you're sayin though. I mean I can say the same to everyone that lost. Its pointless of sayin "oh if he has his engine build up and slapped a turbo on there he would've taken him" The key word is "IF" . Then i can say that well if PeterParkers camaro slapped on a supercharger then it would be a different outcome. I didn't say it cause i don't know the guy and i don't know what he plans on doin to his car. So what makes u think that he's gonna get turbo? You see you don't know and neither do i. Your only repeating what i said on my other post. When i said i wouldn't race a camaro unless my car was totally modified. You just repeated what i just said but in your own words. Lil bit different but i know what your sayin. So what matters is NOW not IF hes gonna do this or that in the future. You know what i'm sayin?

Okay, mellowboy, you made things very confusing in a very short matter of time.
You said earlier that you thought it was pointless to race a faster car if you're a good driver in a slower car. You NEVER said if it was a considerably faster car, or if you had a considerably slow car, you just said, good driver in slower car, and faster car. Now you're turning things around.
Okay and what he said about the Prelude measuring the difference, has nothing to do with racing with a modified vehicle. It's racing... to measure the difference. He might tell himself... "Okay, that SS blew by me like I was in neutral at 0 mph... Next week I'll see what a head package and an intake can do..." That's not saying, "Oh I have a turbo and an 85 shot of nos, so before I blow up my motor and send myself to Hell... I wanna know how I fare against this SS...."
And... How do you know the Prelude driver KNEW it was an SS???
When you're on the freeway it's hard to distinguish a car's model unless you knew the car well. I had a 68 Firebird and I got on the line and a Camaro came up... I thought to myself, "Oh he has a hood scoop... 3" exhaust... Modified Z28... Ahh I can beat him..." I pulled a 13.3... and he pulled a 12.9... That's a big difference, at least 3 car lengths... I found out it was a SS, and I started doing research. For all we know, the Prelude driver could've thought it was a V6 camaro with dual exhaust. Who knows.... You never know... Until you race.
*how was that post? was that aggressive?*

Just depends how well you know cars whether or not you can identify it in a flash. Myself, having driven two Camaros, and have utter distain for mustangs, can recognize by the body panels, the rims, and the ride of the car what the original model it was on most domestics. It's a little harder on imports for me, but that's cause I don't have much experience with them (only what I've learned from my brother). This only tells you what it was, not what it is, just keep the racing smart and safe.

Anyone that mistakes an SS for a V6 deserves to have their ass handed to them. They have different spoilers, hoods, badging, interiors, wheels, and what i would think to be the most noticeable difference, the sound. An SS has a distinct V8 rumble to it, and if you cant differentiate between that and the whine of a 3.8l V6, i say you deserve to get your ass tossed

Hey it's possible. I was at a race meet, and this guy with a GSR was breaking off a lot of peeps. And I pulled my Corolla up and he thought it was a Sentra. And then my friend brought up his Civic Si, with the DOHC Vtec sticker on the side, and he wanted to race the GSR and the guy was all, "Man I'll smoke this DX..."
Oh and Mellowboy, misunderstanding something that's confusing is understandable. Do you understand that?
Don't start giving me attitude, this can go in many directions.
First off... A Mustang GT 1998 Automatic SHOULD beat an Integra GSR right? Well my friend has a GSR and he beat an automatic 1998 Mustang GT from start to 89 mph, are you gonna tell me it takes some godlike skills to press the gas really hard? Those are supposed to be mid 14 second cars stock.
i say you deserve to get your ass tossed
That's pretty gross.

Hey BlackCamaroSS, maybe the reason you have a hard time identifying import cars and trim levels is because of all the civic GTR's and Corolla type-r's and dohc vtec neons out there. Honestly, if I wasn't into them, I might be a little confused too

lol... Dude I saw a Maxima with a Type R sticker on the back, and his hubs were painted red.
And the worst was when I saw a Neon with the SiR badge on his tail under his signal light.
And then my friend bought a Stratus, and he put a GTR badge on the back and he got red winshield wipers... I was like "WTF?" He got what he deserved though, his winshield wipers faded in sunlight and turned into metallic pink, and he tried to rip the GTR badge off and it left all the glue on with parts of the paper. I was like "That's what you get for driving an automatic 2.4l Stratus and putting a GTR sticker on the back..."

Cybercrx00, it gets damn hard trying to figure out who's who, when all I have to go on is badging. When y'all change your stance, put new rims on it, new badges, lower your cars, it takes forever to realize what's really under the hood. Unless I know you and your car, the only way to find out is to race. It just happens that way sometimes.

Dude, did it ever occur to you that some people are insulting the idiots that overuse the badges by putting on badges that don't belong at all?? For instance, an SiR badge is definately inappropriate for a neon or domestic car, but it would fit if on a civic if someone had done some special stuff. However, its widely known that 80% or more of civics that have badges are just for show and don't mean crap. Therefore, the person in a Neon does it to insult all of those idiots. U know who I'm talkin bout, the ones that have a VTEC sticker on their DX civics with euro taillights and the hubcaps removed for "ultralight black colored rims." I mean I put an SiR badge on my bare bones stock '93 Lumina rollin on 14" hubs (get it, rymes with "dubs" and goes better with the ladies ;-) ), and its not even the euro lumina and it has the MFI engine instead of the more powerful SFI engine, neither of which have more horsepower than a B16 160 hp Si engine. Of course there are loads more torque than any 4 cylinder honda engine but then again it is twice as big as most of their 4 cylinders.
I'll have to get a picture of my SiR Lumina, its badass :-D. Except some Civic idiot took off the SiR sticker for a while and now it don't stick right.

Well, I live in Miami, and things are different here cuz we have like the poorest city in the country with people that focus more on looks than performance most of the time (which is not so bad on its own, but they shouldn't be claiming performance if they don't have any). Yeah, things been goin down ever since drug trafficing slowed down from the 80's ;)

You actually have a good point. I bet that is the case in a lot of instances. That is the case actually with my avatar because obviouslly I don't drive a honda. For a while i even wanted to put a sticker on my car that said with 20% more Vtec to make fun of all the honda rice boys that have the Vtec stickers but have non vtech engines.

Does VVTL-i make you want to go on a killing spree too? Cuz its basically copied and improved VTEC by Toyota (although it still seems to be in its begining stages as it only beats some VTECs matches others and is behind a few, as far as hp per liter goes). Or maybe thats kinda good cuz it means they envy what Honda has been doing. Dunno why i just said that irrelevant crap, just wanted to bring up a new issue i guess.
