Check engine light??

hi
I have a 1993 honda integra si vtec jdm,its same as the GSR model, with B18C 1.8 vtec engine in it and it uses P72 ECU
I had a field vtec controller in it before, that has now been removed, I installed a Apexi VAFC and it was working fine, then I put in the Apexi RSM and it seemed to be working, but after a very short driving, check engine light came on, I reset everything drove again, and samething happened, I checked the harness it was in right, then checked the wires again, and found that I was looking at the S2000 wiring which uses a brown and purple wire for the speed sensor, so I re wire the pink and purple wire which I should have used, and this time i drove 3 times the distance and no check engine light came on.
so you guys think my problem was the one wrong wire?
