right now i am just running plain old vavoline conventional motor oil and i am going to switch to either max life or synthetic. which is better for my car that has 90k on it????

synthetic. its the best of the best for oil...I prefer mobil 1 for street use. even though i run Castrol syntec cause im not that rich. mobil 1 stays together the strongest and wont break down.

I have been running Mobil 1 in my 96 GT since I bought it a little over a year ago....it has 150,000 miles on it and is running strong!

I'd go with mobile 1 aswell. As they would say: "If its good enough for NASCAR, It's good enough for your car!" haha i dont know if this is true, but i still put it in everything i own. Good choice.

jump into ur thread here is it ok to switch to syntetic even after u been using conv. oil sense it was new?

Yes it is, but they say not to ever switch back to regular oil after you run synthetic. Ive heard it doesnt hurt anything but then I have also heard it does, not sure anyone knows.

i think the oil just breaks down once you put regular in. The synthetic has a layer of protection and i think the regular oil breaks that down and creates more wear.

ive always heard you if you switch from oil to oil you need to watch you valve seals, etc, cause it can screw with things like that, esp if a high mialage engine suddenly switches to synthetic

I dont own a mustang yet but I do own the eclipse , after switch to mobil 1 , my car start leaking every where. I had to go walmart every 2 weak to buy a little bottle of mobil 1 ( but any mobile 1 is good choice ).
