95 Metro Dim Headlight

Can anyone help me out with a right dim headlight.Ireplaced the bulb,checked the wiring connections,and all the fuses are ok.Also the blue high beam bulb is lighting very dim also

After further diagagnostics i have found that there is no power going to the right headlight.It has a good ground but the only power it gets is bleeding over from the left headlight.Does anyone know of any recalls on this car with headlight problems?? or what this could be,Thanks

If it's not a fuse, or corrosion at the fuse box, poor wiring (broken insulation) is likely the culprit. Check all of it.

Found it after i had some time to get into it.The right headlight power wire was broken between the fusebox and the harness just outside the firewall.I just jumped it and it works fine now,Thanks for your replies

I have a similair problem,

I changed out my sealed beam lights for the larger composite ones, then installed the high power Xenon H4 bulbs, they are rediculously brighter, without going HID.

They required changing the plugs that connect to the lights. I did this, but the unit wasnt working, so I checked for the tell tale burnt connector. yup, I cleans and fixed it, but even that didnt help. I then found the wiring wasnt correct at the bulb sockets, so I fixed that, and now the dash high beam indicator dimly lights up when the low beams suposed to be running. The Darn DRL's wont turn off. Adjusting the park brake handle does nothing. They stay on as long as the switch is on. High beams are spot on. Bright and working perfectly.

Is there a way to bypass the DRL's completely, I dont care if I have to rewire the whole damn system, as long as I can fix it using the the stock switch.

Ive replaced the fuse block as well, to no avail. these headlights are a serious pain in the rear!

Also, a note to the admins, is it possible to compile these problems inti categories? espeically the common problems? I love this little car, and will hopefully be driving her in days. But the headlight issue has to be fixed and ASAP.

The only other problem my geo seems to have is the temp gauge doesnt work. even after its been replaced.

OK, found a final solution to the headlight problem, in the geo's. Switch over to HID's. Dis engage the DRL's completely, go to composite head lamps, and theninstall an Ebay HID conversion kit. Install take an afternoon. But the conversion completely fixes the issue once and for all.
