Ok i know that my passanger side cv shaft has only like 5000 miles on it and my drivers isnt brand new but id say has like 40000 miles max on it.

Anyways, my problem is my two front tires squeal when i go really slow like as if something is wrapped to to tight or something if you get what im saying. Anyways, anyone know what that is?

thanx for the help,
david

Sounds like a toe alignment problem??? CV joints shouldn't cause a tire squeal.

There are three settings that happen when you get an alignment; toe, caster, and camber. Toe is the direction the tires point in relation to the line of travel. Tires should be "toed in" at the front by about 1/16". Sounds like yours might be toed in or out an excessive amount. In order for the car to go in a straight line, your tires have to scuff causing them to squeal.

If you take a peek under the front there, you'll see that the steering linkages are adjustable. Its tough to measure in your driveway but its pretty easy for a shop to do it since they use lasers and stuff. After your more recent CV joint replacement (which requires partial disassembly) my guess is that it wasn't realigned.

Take it to a good shop and demand a full alignment. Cars with struts on the front, including most FWD cars have very minimal adjustments that can be made to caster and camber so most shops skimp and just do toe. Since yours might be out of whack, demand that they check caster and camber too. They'll give you a bunch of crap about how its not adjustable and you can at least say, "I know, not much, but do as much as you can."
