i need a opinion on a motor

I just bought a 86 sdime extcab and it has a blown engine. Im just look for some opinions on what in the hell i should for a motor. But, i have no clue what i want, Im thinkn a 305. But want some opinions on what some other people think. So hit me up with your thoughts. thanks

305's have alwase been a shitty moter for me, could be just my luck with them, but for almost the same price you can do a 350, and put those 305 heads on it, and youll go

Definatly would go with a 350 over a 305

im doing the same thing to my 87 and im putting a 350 in it. go with the 700r4 for a tranny to, the motor is cheap to build and the transmission is a good tranny

Go with the 350, the 305 is a boat anchor....If you have questions about engines, trannys, go ask in the Camaro forum (not trying to say s-10 guys don't know anything...), they are the guys that drive/work on sbc's every day, specifically 89IROC&RS, he is a SBC genius. Keep in mind, don't bother asking questions about how to install it, just engine questions...
