1996 850 odometer not working

1996 850 non-turbo auto,,,the tripmeter and odometer stopped working, is there a pick up sensor? This is my mothers car and needs to get this fixed so she can sell and buy a new one. It has about 120,000 miles on it. Thanks

where is a gear in the speedo motor that dies you can get one from a volvo dealer

sounds like it is a pain to replace!
