The Ultimate US Mail Car

My wife is a Rural USPS Mail Carrier. Since in our area, the carrier must provide their own transport, we are constantly looking for Mail Cars. The discussion one evening turned to, "What would be the 'ultimate Mail Car?" The '63-67 Chevy Nova is probably one of the most desired among carriers. 6 cyl, Turbo-hydro tranny, bench seat, self-servicable. Taking that concept one step further the most desired body of that series would have to be a Nova Delivery Wagon. No one makes a NDW diecast. I found a JL Street Freak or Zinger or what ever they called it. This I modified into a NDW. The hood or bonnet (depending on which side of the pond you hail) had to be made from J&B. This was done by using a hood from my other JL Nova that I wasn't willing to cut up. It was pressed into a mould of silicon, cured, then removed leaving the impression of the hood. J&B was then mixed and formed into the mould and left to cure. Came out OK. If I can find another beater JL Nova with a hood I'll probably change it out though. The decals were done using Testor decal sheets and sealer. They were created on Adobe however. I can't get anything original out of the Testor's disc that comes with the decal kit. The wheels came from a JL 96 Dodge Ram.
