lincoln 5.0 into 70 mustang

I just bought an '88 lincoln town car for $500. I could not pass that deal. it runs perfect, less than 90k miles. The only problem I have is, how can I get more performance out of this motor without converting to mass air. I have found some of the parts I need but it will be a while bsfore I can collect all of them. ( computer, wiring harness, and mass air sensor). I will use the motor, tranny, computer and many other things off of the lincoln. any help in this adventure would be awesome!!

heads, headers, bottom end, gearing (good first), and some other things. id get mass air though and get rid of smog.
