Turbo trouble, jumpy / jerky

hey guys, i haven't posted in a while as my mr2 was stored for the winter, but now that i have it out again it seems to be really jerky at low rpm specifically between 2500 and 4000 rpm, it seems the turbo has trouble spooling up but once it is going it runs just fine, my mr2 has 118k on it which i know is about the life of turbos usually, so i was wondering if u guys think my turbo is bad or if there is something else going on, its a 92 fyi, o yeah it doesnt seem to have very much low end power either, any info would be greatly appricieated, thanks

Did you put fresh gas in it? Old gas runs bad.

yeah it has new gas in it, and typically i have run 92 octane (premium here in iowa) that is until gas got to 2.50 a gal, so the last 2 tanks have been regular, but it did it when it had the 92 octane in it as well.

keep runnin the 92 in there and let the engine get used to runnin again. my car did that when i got it from this guy who had it sit for a year. i have 175k on my turbo ct26. it finally went away and the turbo runs fine. now im boostin 15psi and it still runs fine. just give it time to where in and it will do its thing. u may have to change the oil in the turbo 2. u have to think of that.

1. Run the best gas you can in a turbo MR2. 93 octane prefered, 92 will do and 91 is fine, but should be a last resort. If you ran less than 91, your car will run porrly until it is out of the system.

2. How old are your cap, rotor, wires and plugs?

3. Do you have an aftermarket BOV installed?

I suspect if you have the OEM BPV, fresh Toyota ignition pieces and good gas your troubles will go away and you will most likely find some lost power.

just ordered new cap, rotor, plugs, wire, and fuel filter, i think that is where the problem is, probably needs all new stuff anyways, while im changing all that is there anything else i should do to get it back to running superb?
