quietest exhaust setup

hey guys, i'm too broke to buy a bolt-on exhaust system. the one i prefferably want is an R&D Thermal exhaust, since i've heard its the quitest. anyways, i took off my stainless steel headers since the flexpipe snapped and i'm putting back the oem ones. when i installed the stainless steel ones, i had to cut the stock exhaust back 3 inches. now i would have to lengthen it again, and i figure i might as well just put on a custom 2.5" one. i don't want a straight pipe cuz they sound like ass. my friend told me to get the 2.5" mandrel bent (which i planned on anyways) and ask for a 21" resonator. i don't want a jap grape-fruit launcher type muffler btw. but anyways, what setup do you recommend to keep it quiet but still make it better than the stock 1.75" one that comes installed.

dont you think 2.5 inches is a little big? i'd go 2.25 or so, but if your doing a custom set-up what about a flowmaster muffler? Not loud at all and dont have a 5 inch coffee can tip.

get a flowmater 40 series muffler. they have a deep tone and arent to loud.

yeah buy a magnaflow with 2.5 inlet/outlet and put a dual tip on it.

2.5 is generally fine for the bigger motor of a lude.

got the dual-tip magnaflow installed and it sounds good, just a lil too loud for my taste...ok...well...way too loud, especially with the windows closed, but watever nothing i can do about it now, at least it looks good, i'll post pics later

just cut off the exhaust before the cat, it will probably sound pleasant.
