What are the major seals that need to be replaced?

My car is starting to burn a quart of oil a month I think it's time that I need to start getting the seals replaced. My question is what seals usually should be replaced? I don't want to replace the head gasket or anything but which ones. I'm talking both big and small ones here. I just need a rough idea.

start with valve stem seals, if not, time for rebuild

Sorry, but I thought my other thread is about the clutch mostly and I didn't think I needed to lnclude it in that since I just wanted a direct answer to the question.

Rebuild is not something I really want to deal with since the motor has been taken care of and all and only has 134k on it, it's just I haven't had the time now for 3 years to do anything engine wise. But mostly I should I replace seals around the valve cover and oil pan? Would I need to replace the seals on the valves too or is that costly to do?

If you are burning oil, you have bigger problems than a oil pan gasket seal.

valve stem seals r about $0.65 each. that's not too expensive if u ask me. a quart a month doesn't mean anything. how many miles r going by in that month? the acceptable oil consumption of an engine is one quart for every 1500 miles. so if u r gettin that many miles then technicly u r ok. an engine will ALWAYS burn sum amount of oil, but i understand the concern of burning oil.
there r only 4 ways to burn oil;
1) valve stem seals leaking
2) worn/broken oil rings
3) head gasket leaking
4) clogged PCV system AND excessive blowby causing oil to back feed out the PCV system fresh air "intake", and then sucked thru the intake into the system.

these will NOT cause oil burning:
front and rear main seals, camshaft seal, valve cover and oil pan gaskets, oil pump "gasket"(there really isn't an actual gasket, just liquid sealer from the factory)

yea but all those seals can leak, so he may be losing oil that way, not just burning it off.

also check to see if your spark plug holes are filled up with oil, that can cause oil to seep past the spark plugs into the chamber.

yeah, when we did replace the spark plugs, there was a good amount of oil in the sparks plugs and i've known that they've got to be replaced. The PCV has also been replaced too.

Thanks guys for your help.
