HI I´m Johan from Sweden I´ve been looking and admiring all the models in here for a while but this is my first post to this forum:

I started working on the Lotus Esprit turbo

Progress:
Started the engine and transmission decided to cut of the original discbrakes and install some with more detail.
I haven´t decided if I should move them out to the wheels or I should let them be at the original place next to the gearbox.
Any suggestins are welcome

I haven´t decided on how much bodywork I will do but the rideheight is to high for me so some kind of bodywork is decided that I will do.
I´m thinking of using the rims on the pictures what do you all think?
On the picture I also added a strip of styrene as a sideskirt to get a better stance

Please let me know what you think of this project good or bad!

Veyron I´m really looking forvard of your progress tread on the Lotus Esprit Sport 300.

But people please don´t compare my work with a master like Veyron

Hi,

if I can see it right, this is a Monogram Kit. I built this kit years ago and want to give you a tip:

make lots of testfitting between "chassis" (where you fix the wheels) and the floor, I had a fixing problem when I glued both parts together and a big distance between upper side of the wheels and fender was the result.

I wouldn´t take too big wheels for this car.

looks good, sideskirts give a nicer race stance, as for the rims they seem to bling bling (too big) for a lotus, btw what company makes this kit?

Tjena Johan!
Welcome, nice project...never got around finishing mine before I gave it away to a friends kids to build. I think the rims look alright on your Esprit, put the brakes inboard as this was positive for the handling on the real deal.

Hej å hö!

I love this kit,

Heres a tip, resin cast the turbo and the cam gears, they are very useful for other projects.

Exceptionally cool. Will you need to drop the nose down a bit? Seems to sit quite high in the profile shot.
Man I'd like to track down some Lotus kits like this one!

Thanks for all the replys I´ll try to have an update soon. I have decided to bring the discbrakes out to the wheel(rear) because the ones I´m planning on using is to big for the space it is supposed to be

To all the Swedes here: tjena grabbar kul att det är så många svenskar här.

As promised here´s a little update

I started with the front modifying the front spoiler but the lip is to big and will also make a smoother shape. The other thing I´ve done is making the rear lip a little bit bigger as you can see in the picture.

i'm following this one ! I bought this kit on a Polish "ebay" a couple of months ago and unpacked it this morning to start working on it. The ammount of flash is pretty bad - I'm guessing tis is an old moulding

Hi
Sorry guys that I have not updated this project for a very long time but it´s just because nothing have happened for a long time and my list of exuses is so loooong but I will just show the most lovely excuse that I have:
http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/320575Ella_Larsson-med.JPG
My third child Ella born 20050701

So now to the progress of the Esprit this is what I have done:I started working on the front fenders Mr Fukuda inspired me with his mustang

http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/320575lotus_update2-med.JPG
Now when I decided to do so much bodywork I´m starting to think about making bigger mods on the chassis and engine, maybe replacing the 2.2 litre four with something bigger. Any suggestions are velcome.
Please make comments both positive and negative

Welcome Ella!
That's a really nice scratchbuild you got there, I'm waiting my third one as well. Any day soon, it's due to July 22 but you just never know when these little bugger decides to pay a visit!?
Anyway, she's adorable! I've got two boys before and we orderd a girl this time, hopefully they're not out of stock!
....the car is also a nice piece of work but not even close to Ella!

hi Johan!

Well Ella is beuatifull - congratulations!
I have also scratch built 3 children :) all girls. The older 2 think I'm mad with my "toy cars" but my youngest - Ola (9yrs) - has started making models herself!!

Great work on the Esprit. I thinks it's going to be a tight fit in that engine bay with a 6/8/12(!!) pot engine but look forward to seeing how this and Ella grow
