I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer and I want an exhaust. I am definately going with a Flowmaster. I was wondering if anyone had tried the new Hushpower II yet? I have a 93 Jimmy with a DeltaFlow 40 series and it sounds great. I am stuck betweeen that and the Hushpower. Post your opinions or expirences please.

None of the above. IMO, they both sound droning and rattling to me. I went with an "off brand" muffler in my truck. Midas Ravin 55's and FlowPro's 750 single baffles are so close in sound to one another there is virtually no difference. I went for the FlowPro in mine, has a nice, deep resonance that opens up to a throaty roar under moderate pedal pressure. It does not sound like a prattling tin can like the Flowmasters can get to sounding like - and they are completely seam welded inside and out; made of severely heavy gage aluminized steel that will not rot, even where welded to your inlet and outlet pipes. They survive the punishment off-road much better too. Flowmasters are tack welded and prone to blowing out or getting dented in when you go off-road. You can have the Ravin's and the FlowPro mufflers for under $40 depending on where you shop and they are a far more durable product in my experience.

Don't go with a Flowmaster, proven to reduce performance due to their restrictive flow design.

Only made for sound and they do that through several bafles which slow and restrict exhaust flow.

Try the Ravin Z55 muffler from Midas, you will be amazed by the sound and it flows so much better than anything Flowmaster makes.

I went with a GoRavin Z55s on my 99 Blazer (V6). Man it sounds perfect, nice and throaty at lower RPMs but you step on the gas and its nice and loud. I think it sounds better than any flowmaster out there. I have a stock cat and air intke so it should sond better after those two parts, and maybe some new headers.

You don't have to replace the cat, it doesn't retrict flow at all really.

Only replace it when it goes bad.

the 98 to i beleve 00 have "bad cats" if he has over 80k, i wouldnt be one bit suprised if his cat has gone bad or started to, the local muffler shop (friends of family so its not a bs story) said he does atleast 2 a week anymore. The stock cat will also hold back a lot of sound, go with a high flow cat to realy get the sound out of your vehical... btw, what moter are we talken about here anyways? 4.3?... and a cat wont mess up sencors as long as a bung is welded in and an o2 sencor put in... btw i have the magnaflow high flow cat (as stated earlyer) and a flow pro muffler (i beleve a mx 333, not sure though), and me and every one else loves it

Don't replace it unless it is broken.

Waste of money paying that kind of cash for sound.

I used to drive a 95 buick roadmaster, and I cleaned out the cats and had a flowmaster dual exhaust system installed. It sounded great and ran better. As for my 96 Blazer, though, I still have the stock exhaust, so I don't really know how great flowmasters would sound on it.

Flowmaster will sound raspy and will reduce your performance.

Flowmasters flow like shit.

How is the interior noise with the Ravin Z55?

I've got two children and it's hard enough speaking over them!

Thanks

Is it worth your while to have a muffler installed if you've never touched exhaust before? Keep in mind I'm fairly handy.
