what do you guys think of the goodyear assurance line? im lookin to get a new set of tires for the maro. im not looking for any crazy awsome performance tire, just need a good all-weather tire that will last thru till next summer at the earliest. i can get the assurances for 105 each with a discount from my buddy, anyone got anything better for less or close to same price? thanks in advance

i just checked out tirerack and apparently they dont make the assurance in 235/55R16. i saw em at the local place here so im wonderin if i read it wrong. either way i might change my mind and try gettin the goodyear GT-HR series.

i have 245 all the way around and theres no rub... if thats why you were wanting 235 in the front... your tires will last longer if you have all the same size because you car rotate out the front tires for the back

its the whole drag thing, wider tires on the back for traction, narrower in the front. im actually prolly just gonna stick with 235s all the way around. i was thinkin about it right after i posted that and my car aint fast enough for me to worry about things like that and it will prolly be cheapier in the long run. like you said.

Performance tire wise.....Kumho Ecsta MX. Fairly cheap, and they are a GREAT tire. They do wear fast though.

as for 245's I hear people say to get those but if you have the V6 wheels (16"x8") the 245 wont wear down right and you could void the warranty on them. This is all according to the guy that owns a tire shop that im buying my tires from (friend of my dad's)

well the rule of thumb i have always heard is that you can go up or down by one size: you need 235s you can go 245 or 225. i think im gonna go with 235s cause its cheaper, even tho i just got a raise...
