02 rear hatch

i have an 02 aztek and the rear hatch doesn't always pop when you push the button up front in the interior. it needs to be pushed multiple time for it to open. anyone else have this problem? and is it a quick fix?

Its a fairly common problem, more so in colder climes. A quick fix might be to turn the 2 rubber stoppers out just a little bit (and equally), a quarter turn or so. Also make sure when you lift gate, lift it from center, not from side/

Unfortunately this is one of the nagging problems the Azteks have. My 01 had it when under 55 my 04's not so bad but it still happens.

My 01 had the no unlock issue and went thru multiple trips to the dealer. Finally replaced the locking mechanism inside the gate. They broke the rear inside trim cover trying to remove it, so I got a new one, too! Sweet!
