Wrecked my baby

I was coming home from school on Friday after it rained. I was in my subdivision coming out of a small bend in the road and I either hit an oil spot on the road or I hit the accelerator too soon, but I started to slide. So I counter-steered but overcorrected, so my car spun 180 and swung the back-left rear tire into a sewer drain. So anyway, there really isn't any body damage, its all internal.

So, the tire is angled inward, the brake/rotor needs to be replaced, the axle is pushed to the right, and the tranny (A4) is really hard to shift and doesn't have reverse. And when I put it in the neutral slot, its actually in drive. I think its because the driveshaft is angled now. I also bent part of the frame (but I think someone called it a follower...but is replaceable).

I am a pessimistic and I assume the worst, and I don't want to total my car. So, do you think some of these things aren't as bad as I think they are or should I start looking for a cheap car? I only have about $3K for repairs, but that's even a stretch. I have been in a bad mood ever since. Someone please tell its not as bad as I think it is.

well if you try to claim in on insurance most likely they will total it if there is any kind of frame damage. (even tho its not really a frame). i would say you could get someone to custom fab something to fix it rather than junk your car. they dont pay too much for wrecked lt1's.

New rear end, prolly 2-300 bucks... talk to a trany shop about your trans i dont know if a bent driveshaft would cause that then again I dont know too much about trannys, and see how damaged that frame part is
