I was wondering if anyone had a link or instructions on replaceing ball joints. I was quoted 270$ that included an alignment. I am hoping to replace them myself then pay 45.00$ for an alignment.

Thank you in advance!!

go to autozone.com and look under repair procedures. you will need a good drill and some good bits if they still have factory rivets

Yeah, its not hard.... the time consuming part is drilling the rivets out of the original ball joints.... i think advanceautoparts.com has a how to section as well....

The OEM rivets are aluminum, I used a chisel to remove the heads and a punch to drive them up and out. The new replacement ones come with nuts and bolts, so riveting the new ones in is not necessary.

P.S. removing the CV half axles is necessary for clearance. I just wrapped a chain around the inner CV and yanked them out. You can get a tool from Autozone’s Loan-a-Tool, but I like the yank the chain method. Simple, fast, and does no harm.

Are there any torque specs for the bolts and or/castle nut. If so what are they.

Thanks
