Venting into the atmo--relocate?

cant find somewere that addresses this so... why not just move the damn mass air to the intake mani? i am sure it can not be done but i cant find anyone who tryed.

thinking for one of 2 reasons.... eather the thing does not work well (or at all) with air under pressure - IE does not read it right/brakes - or it would be hard, if not impossable to seal it.

but maybe just nobody tryed it. somebody gimme a link to a page that has tested it; not just 'it wont because i say so.' thanks.

first off, why would you want to put such a restriction right before the intake mani? not to mention such an awkward one.

get a MAFt setup and do it like the real guy's...

Yeah, way to answer your own question lorddarkrice. I asked this myself not long ago--stock MAF can't be pressurized.

Vince, do you run MAF-T or are you just venting a Type S with the spring setting fairly hard?

ya, just tighten that bitch up. i did a pretty massive write-up on how to tune the Type-S a WHILE ago. try a search for it...

I've been running my TurboXS H-34 for the past few weeks vented--it runs great with no adjustment. I hook the recirc tube back up for long trips though. Venting is fun :)

Argh am I going to see every venting thread solved by tightening the type s? If you tighten it and it affects anything, it was because it was too loose and leaked off boost.
The stock MAS is a karman vortex type. It cannot be put under pressure as was said previously. The GM hotwire MAF can be.

yeah, thats what i read. to use the GM type, that way you dont run rich between shifts. and its not a very big obstruction.
