New Fuel Pump Relay

I am so amazed on how much the wiring sucks on the S13's fuel pump. I started having problems with my car last week when I put the Walbro 255lph HP pump in my car. I thought that the pump was bad or something. I then checked the voltage, a horrible 10.8v. Today was the big day, it was hot, almost 100 or so. The car was driving like a big turd. I guess the wire has much higher resistance in the heat. I went to Autozone and invested in a relay, 14g wire, and some connectors. I totally removed the stock relay and ran all new wire from front to back. I check the voltage again, 12.8v. The pump was singing nice and clean too. Took her for a drive and ran the piss out of it. Hope it drives better now.

yes this is the first thing we do on turbo upgraded cars..
you could have also just spliced into the wiring in the back, would have been a hell of a lot easier. run a relay with a splice so power goes directly to battery (inline fuse), works good if you have the battery in the back.

I like the cleaner look. I will take the extra 20 minutes to make it a little more organized. Only took me 30 minutes anyway.

Yea I agree. Should prolly use at least 12g wire too. Soldering is a huge plus and looks much better along with heat shrink tubing. I ran 10g wire along with a 30a fuse. Ran full 10g from the battery-to-fuse-to-relay-to-pump. I was seeing some 13s past 5k and now I run a solid 12:1AF.
Nice job though. Great cheap upgrade. Gotta love them.
