Alright here is the problem. I own a 97 GS-T 5spd with 98k miles. That is probably problem number one. I've owed the car now for 4 week. Within the first week I toasted the tranny and axels. I had to replace the tie rods and 1 vacuum line. I hate wheel hop. Now that i've just installed my new used tranny, been driving the car now for 3 days, it all of the sudden has problems when in boost. Let me tell you about the cars mods because maybe one of these is the problem. I'm using the 1g intake manifold, 16g turbo, turboxs dual boost controller, greddy type s bov, apexi n1 turbo back, intercooler hardpiping, autometer af gauge, and autometer boost gauge. Alright now here is the problem. When my car is moving and when i'm at half throttle or better and the second my car starts to boost it jerks, stalls, won't excellerate. Now if my car is sitting still i can rev it all day without problems. If i'm moving and wind out a gear without going past half throttle its also fine. It has me stumped. I'm fairly new to the turbo world and it has got me confused. For the most part I know my way around the the 4g63 engine. Also for the record my boost controller is set to 8psi according to my boost gauge. High boost is set to 10psi. I also noticed a strange sound coming from somewhere near the intake manifold. It kind of sounds like a vacuum leak or something to that nature. I have not found the source for the sound yet but all my vacuum line seem to be in good order. Another thing that happened is that when my boost gauge says that i'm at 10psi vacuum and I let off the gas my BOV well it blows off. It started doing this all today. If anyone has any ideas of what to check for or if this has happened to you please help me. I've seen this car sit more than i've seen it drive and i'm about to lose my mind.

Are your spark plugs and wires good? The boost gauge reading 10 in/Hg of Vac and your bov releasing pressure means your gauge is not hooked up properly or you have a leak in the intake manifold/boost gauge T area. Somehow it's not reading as much boost as you're making, probably because the line has a hole in it somewhere or is not secured properly.

Check those things first...do a boost leak test if you can't find the source of the problem. Check http://www.vfaq.com's DSM section, under the Intake system subsection for directions on how to make and use a boost leak tester.

Alright. I've changed the sparkplugs and the problem is still there. The plug wires seem to be in good condition but i guess i'll change those too. As for the boost gauge. It works fine then all of the sudden it doesn't work right then it goes back to being fine again. If I change out the plug wires and it doesn't fix the problem what else could it be. I went today and checked to see if my car was throwing anymore codes and all it listed was my speed sensor, the clip is gone out of the plug so I guess its not reading right.

use the vfaq in the sticky at the top of the forum page and make your own leak detector. check for leaks, it's most likely a boost leak.

Great news. I found the problem. One of my spark plug wires was broken in two. Thank God I had a first gen Talon parts car with some good wires. Thanks for everyones help.
