wipers

hello i have a 95 golf and all of a sudden my wiper lever will not go up to work wipers. it will work down on intermediate and spray but i have to wiggle it to go up to work, is there a relay or something else thats gone or do i need to replace the unit from the column please help charlie

If the switch physically sticks then it will have to be replaced.

On the switch there is a little plastic piece that pushes against the steering column and the inside the switch to activate. If that plastic piece is broken it would do what you're talking about
