Im lookin at buyin a 5.0 mustang, but it has bottom end problems. Is it a complicated process to put a new 5.0 engine in a mustang? Im not use to fuel injected and computer controled cars. I have found that i can get a used 302 for like 300$-600$. Some of the 302s come out of linclons and cougers. They are H.O. but are they the same thing as the mustang H.O.? I no some one with a bronco with a 5.0 H.O. Did broncos even come with H.O 5.0s? Will that fit? Im a total no0b when it comes to fords, but i really like 87-93 5.0 mustangs looks and exhuast tones. -thanks

im not the most knowledeable on swaps, but ive heard its a simple swap, people do it ALL the time. i think they even sell kits for it? but another option is you could get a 351, you can find those for cheap too. and thats pretty simple to from what ive heard.

I'm swapping in a 351w/5.8l out of a 1989 F-150.
I havent gotten started on the car side of things yet but from what I hear its pretty straight forward.

Changing a 5.0 mustang is easy as engine changes go. I am putting a 5.0 in a 65 inplace of a 289 and it is alittle harder. The 5.8 is 2 inches wider but will bolt in. It is the wiring that take the time. I just bought a 67 cougar and I think we are putting a EFI 5.8 out of a van in it.

well i would suggest you have someone help you and walk you through it as you do it. Its pretty simple, Fuel injection or not. The HOs are also the same as in the mustang, but cam and intake manifolds may differ. Engines with MSD ignitions turn out to be the easiest, since its a 1 plug connection for the ignition.

i know the 351 is a little taller, so you may have hood clearance problems. I replaced my 351w in my 85 bronco with a 89 302 (kinda blew up and i had a spare 302) and I had to change the flywheel in the bronco's tranny and since it was a newer ignition system, had to get a distributor from and older 302. Other than that, mark all hoses and wires (a,a....b,b....etc) so you know where they go and having a buddy def makes it easier and quicker.
