Racing your car.

Have you ever raced you own car? Well I almost did the other day. I was pulling up to a light, and this is too strange, there are two other LeBarons at the light. I am in the middle, on the left is a turbo mid 80's LeBaron, and to the right was non other than another GTC Turbo! I have seen only one other GTC Turbo besides my own. I look over and ask he what year hers is and it was an 89. It was just like mine except it was white and she had an automatic and I have a manual. So she thows a rev and I say sure. The light turns green and we take off. I am not sure if the other LeBaron was even trying but we left him in the dust. Our turbos kicked in at the same time but mine kicked QUITE a not harder and right then the race was over, I went flying ahead of her. At the next light I gave her a wave and she turned into UVSC.

I then noticed that I wass in the wrong lane and needed to turn right up ahead to get on the freeway. Next to me is a Tiburon so I should have no problem. The light turns green I don't even really try but this guy is pushing that Tiburon as hard as he can. He was trying to be an ass and not let me in the lane so I gave him the finger dropped it a gear and floored it. I went flying past him got in the lane and turned. He tried to catch up to me on the on-ramp but I wasn't having that. So I dropped it again and floored it. I was in forth when it happended, I topped out the turbo. There is a limiter on my turbo at just below 15PSI where it will not boost any more unlest you let off the gas so I simply shifted and went on my way. All I can say is that when I replace that engine and turbo there will be something done about that. Limits, we don't need no stinking limits.

So have you guys ever raced your car or a car that was damn close to being your car?

i raced a corolla we were neck and neck(through 1st and 2nd gear, there simular, but then he had to slow down cause he wanted to change lanes cause his lane had parked cars in it.
i did race a slightly newer camry yesterday(90 91), he pulled up beside and alittle bit infront of me at the lights, i saw him looking at my car with the corner of my eye so i looked at him and he looked back at me, i kept on staring at him to see if he would look a 2nd time wich then i would of revved but he didnt, but he did creep up abit, when the lights went green i floored it and only stayed abit behind him, so he must of been flooring it too, there was about 3 bends up in the road ahead, and we were doing about 80kmh, cause of the suspension and bodyroll in my car i had to slow down and accelerate around the corners, i overtook him inbetween one of the bends, i dont know if he gave up or if he got scared of the bends, but at the end he pulled into my lane.. behind me.

Sure! this guy tries me...Not knowing what I have under the hood. His Z has the norm exh., intake...Smoke him! No one should step to a car when you don't know what's under the hood! Esspeacially 532hp!

one day i pulled up to a stoplight and theres a red impreza in the next lane, we rev up and when the light turns i go for it. i leave him pretty badly, then all of a sudden he comes from nowhere and flies past me with a "whoooooooooosh psssshhhhhhtttttttt whoooooooooosh". needless to say i had failed to notice his was a wrx... :eek:

I race other miatas all the time, I and I almost always win. This one time I raced a older red miata that was supercharged, got killed.

I always use to race my stratus until my parents took it and gave me the volvo that I have now

one shit thing about camrys is only old people drive them, so i can rarely find a race, there was a yellow one at the lights once and i pulled up next to it, i had 5 people in my car but i didnt care if i would lose, atleast i could say i raced another camry. i asked the guy(he was in his 30s) if he wanted a race, he was older but his car was yellow :P
he said no and that was the end of it. :mad:
