I am about to turbo my 2000 , the 4g63 turbo kit available at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33742&item=7971760642&rd=1 and its cheap, would it fit on my GS 4g64?

while i dont know with complete confidence i would say yes seeing how the 2g exhaust manifolds fit our 3g's so if it was designed to bolt up to a 2g then it shouldnt be a problem. may be the location of the turbo might matter but i dont know. like i said above i only know that the manifold fits our engine i dont know about the rest of the kit, seems like a fair price
figured i would throw in my 2cents

the 2G manifold will fit. the turbo will fit also but there might be some clearance issues with the A/C. the turbo will come very close to the A/C.
By the way, good find. thats a mighty fine looking manifold

Stay away from that kit like it was a hooker with herpes.
If the price is "too good to be true" the product usually is too.
Look up stories with SSAutochrome on www.dsmtuners.com and www.dsmtalk.com.

I would bet on it.
SSAutochrome has people reselling their junk now. Alum welded to mild steel, shitty welds, etc.

true, if i had a camera, i'd take a pic of my formally stainless headers. Now dis-colored. Except my welds were ok.

but thats a pretty bold statement. you are pretty much saying that ANYBODY that sells chromed 2G manifolds on ebay are from this company. im sure there is more than one company that sells these products.

Take it how you will, but avoid putting words in my mouth. That is the EXACT package I am talking about, but there is no way it could be the same thing since sombody else is selling it.
Edit: Also, note that that is NOT a 2g manifold. It is a tubular manifold. Again, your words and my statement should not be confused.

When your "not 10000000% quality" turbo shits the bed because you were to cheap to do it right ONCE, someone PM me so I can come tease you for not listening. THere are a few GOOD kits for the 2k+ Eclipses, but I don't think any are around a grand.
Correct me if I'm wrong 2k+ folks.

:uhoh:  I don't give 2 shits what you drive, I was answering the question.
So my response didn't pertain to your "friend's" car? Is is not a 2k and up Eclipse?
I tried not to use any big words...
Edit: Last time I checked, "my" and "I" were used in reference to one's self.

tell your friend to save his money or he will be buying a new engine. building a cheap ass turbo kit is possible, but you still need quality products. going with piss-poor products will make the engine take a shit. thank you and have a nice day

:1: ...I still don't understand how you're not into "%100000000" quality but then state you buy the best... Unless your friend was speaking vicariously through you at that moment.
In any event, like the rest said, if you or your friend don't or doesn't want to have to go through the trouble of getting a motor rebuilt after the collapse that a horrible turbo set up will bring then I would suggest the job is done right the first time.

i know, i go for quality when i buy aftermarket, i tend to stay oem tho, but i am always in it for quality. my friend, who was on the phone the time said he just wanted fast for about a year or 2, and as long as it ran, he didnt really care. im sorry yall, chill, then tell me what a good qality kit is, ill talkw ith him and tell him (he used to have a honda 0_0) that he needs to forget this kit....

talk to Max Rev. they designed a kit for the 4G64. johnnybgood was selling it, but he has decided to sell his business. the kit is showing alot of promise.
or you can go to www.club3g.com and PM Tearstone. he can give you information on, in many peoples opinion, the best quality kit made for the 3G. however, it will cost more than $4000 for that kit.
if thats too much, look into piecing a kit together. you can get most of the parts off of ebay. search this forum for turbo kits. we have a thread around here where we talked about the parts needed to build your own custom turbo kit. that would probably be your best bet if you want something cheap

Well not to be mean or anything but, you could have searched for that info dude. There were many threads that ended with what eclipsed4utoo posted. And for shit left in highschool? You'd be surprised about the stuff that people still do from highschool. Also you'd be surprised at how many dumbasses come here and give mis-info then try to back themselves up with no wall to back to.

MANY times before. In those previous instances, people also didn't hide behind smoke and mirrors and want 4k kits for around a grand.
I am amazed people can find the IE or Firefox icon on their desktop, but not a damn "Search" button.

eclipsed4utoo you shousld really think about asking the webmaster to let you add a FAQ section that would actually hit the topics that are asked over & over. Not just an FAQ search option as this site offers but links to formated torubleshooting to how to piece together a turbo for different models and blocks. looking at your post count I imagine you have answered everything 10x already and that would explain why someone might take your replies as being short or anyone elses at that. Just something to think about to get rid of all the repeating of things.
eclipsed4utoo
05-11-2005, 10:29 AM
i think that would be a great idea but....how many new members would actually use it? i mean, we hounded the moderators to get the announcement at the top so that the new members would search before they ask the same questions again. but none of the new members even try a search. they just ask the question anyway.
i do know of a way to get the new members to start searching. whenever they ask a question that has been asked time and time again, nobody answer it. just tell them to search. ive tried just telling the person to search, and even did a search for them. but then somebody else will come along and answer the question. so theres no point in getting new members to do a search, when we are just going to answer these same questions again and again.
thats just my .02 on the matter
