hi;

Can anybody help and give me info on what parts, steps, wirings, brain/box i need, etc..., to install an original OEM toyota 4runner "electric locking differential" on my 96 4runner?.

My 4runner SR5 4X4 did not come with that option, perhaps someone out there has already done this install?.....

I can get a used OEM elec.locking diff. assembly, (drum to drum) locally around $500, without the wires?, control box?, switchs?, etc....., please help!, thanx.....

aloha;

You will need the locker ECU and wiring harness as well as dash switch. Or alternatively you can use a mechanical actuator sold by I think Downey or All-Pro. Some people prefer the mechanical actuator since it engages faster than the electric actuator and is more reliable.
