Hi Guys,

Ok... so i just got type r intake/exhaust cams and valve springs installed on my gsr with aem cam gears. My other modifications are comptech catback exhaust, dc sports 4-1 header , and aem intake. Right now my intake cam is advanced by 2 deg and my exhaust is at 0. Can anyone suggest better settings? Can i adjust these myself, or do you have to be mechanically inclined? Can anybody provide instructions on how to adjust them? Also, they cut my valve cover, is there any danger that my valvetrain will get dirty or something? Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks

adjusting cam gears is a touchy thing if you dont know how to do it. i know that with N/A cars you want to have a bit overlap. Naturally aspirated engines, like Hondas, rely on valve overlap to fill the cylinders. this means that the intake and exhaust valves are open at the same time. another problem is if the exhaust is retarded past 8 degrees the problem of valve to piston clearance becomes an issue. my best advice is to get a professional with a dyno to set it. the "butt dyno" can cause many problems in the future.
