I found a Clarion APA450 4 channel amp on ebay for ~$85.
See it here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7971451600&category=38638). Clarion is listed in the good area of the company list in the newb thread, so I'm hoping it's a decent model.
I'll delete this thread if people want after I get a response.
Thanks!

You're eventually gonna want more power than that... IMO 50W would never be enough... but that's just me...

it's just for my coaxials and components... I don't listen to it very loud, and I'm just trying to improve my mid range level. Those CDT's are hungry :) The 15 watts from my head unit are just tickling them.
I'm basically asking if clarion is a decent brand for a moderate volume SQ setup. Now that I've done my initial mistakes on amp selection, I'm trying to find something that I'll be happy with for a while.

I'd still get a higher output amp incase you ever upgrade, one less amp you'll have to buy.

Would 75 watts rms per channel be reasonable, or is it like 100 that you're pushing for?

Well Clarion is in the good section of the list, but I dunno if that's for amps or head units or speakers or what. I wish one of the know-it-alls here, who may have had experience with clarion amps, would answer :p Thanks for your input aznx and punk... I'm trying to get the best quality I can for as little as possible, and I'm hoping that this might do it for me.

I'd get a 100 X4 amp and just turn the gains down to where your ears are comfortable, that should leave you enough headroom incase you get louger subs or more power hungry speakers in the future.
I'd always buy an amp with atleast a little more power than you really need... just seems like a good policy to me.

everything clarion makes pretty much is decent. theres headunits are really good, ive heard one of there 4 ch's, dont know the model or anything, but it had nice sound to it. i would recommend a larger sub though.
