code 0753 (1-2 Shift Solenoid Electrical Malfunction)

Hello,
I took my 99 GMC Safari for emission test and it failed for code p0573 (1-2 Shift Solenoid "A" Electrical Malfunction). I bought the part from dealer and thought I could find the solenoid easily and replace it. I looked everywhere underneath & side of transmission but could not find it. I like where this solenoid is located (outside or inside transmission) and if I can change it myself. How much it would cost me if it has to be done by Trans shop? Please help...
