2001 vulcan/duratec swap

I would like to pull my vulcan engine out of my 2001 Taurus and replace it with a duratec. Is this possible without changing out the transmission as well?

if you have an AX4S Transmission, then its not possible without a custom ECU as no Duratecs were fitted with AX4S's. If you have the Heavy Duty package and an AX4N, then it will drop right in with the right mounts and wiring. Also, the Duratec would chew through an AX4S in a couple thousand miles.
