hey.....I just ordered the corvette servo.....so I will install it in about one week and see how it goes......From what I learned that the servo will not let you abuse (can't figure a better word) the truck...All it does is make the shifts quicker....and you can't control the shift points.....Now I was looking at the transgo shift kit....and I see one guy selling it on ebay for about 90 beans.....But I want to know...I use this truck as a daily driver....I am not interested in really going to the drag strip or such.....all I want to do get this crappy transmission working........(I believe most of you have heard my stories, of clunkedy, clunk, clunkedy clunk).just a bit better....I want it to drive like a normal vehicle where it shifts smooth, like in a car .....(I believe most of you have heard my stories, of clunkedy, clunk, clunkedy clunk).....so with that said....should I even bother getting the kit, or should I wait and see haow the servo works out for me? Any opinions? And where'd you guys buy your kits from?

It is my understanding that a shift kit will not provide smooth, unnoticeable shifts (atleast the one's you see on eBay won't). Rather they would become firm, quick and precise shifts. You would definetly feel the truck shift. It would not feel like a normal car shifting.
This is just my understanding of the kits, as I do not have one currently installed on my truck. Maybe some else can give you a more definite answer.

That is right.
The corvette servo should make your truck shift more like a corvette with firm, quick shifts.
My father builds transmitions for dragsters in his spare time. He always told me that for trucks and fast cars you want a shift kit that makes the transmition shift hard and grab the gears faster. Otherwise, the transmition will wear out faster and will not be able handle the power.

So is there anything out there to make the truck shift smoothly, like in a car? All I want to do is make my transmission stop clunking.....
