Security system

I have 1996 passport 4x4 with 3.2 and a standard trany.

I noticed that I have a security system and on the vehicle and didn't thing anything about it. Anyway I bought it used and there is no remote. Last week it got broken into and lots was stolen. I wondered why the alarm was not activated.

I went out and tried to set it off with not luck. Everything I did wouldn't work. I can see the light on the dash working and when I start it the light goes off. I assumed everything was fine. It looks as if there is a siren under the hood.


I there a way to activate it or something I can to to figure out this problem.

I tried to look it up in the chliton book that I have but there was no refrence.

I have a 2001 and I believe that my alarm only goes on when I use the remote. Maybe you need a remote?
