Hey, I own a 1995 Gst with a few mods but all the local shops keep warning me that Eclipses usually start to go out after 100000 miles ( I have 105) They said that on the 4g63 crankwalk seems to be inevitable. I was wandering if anybody knew of any sort of life-span on these cars. I really like my eclipse and I would hate to part with it. So far the only major issues have been replacing the head, belts, and clutch other than that...Thanks again

Only a small number of Eclipses ever get crankwalk. It is not inevitable. Just do all the tune-ups and keep up with the maintenance to make sure the car is in good running condition. Don't worry about crankwalk so much and enjoy your car. Nothing lasts forever.

Crankwalk is way over rated.

Yeah, at 100,001 miles these cars just up and shit the bed...

That shop sounds like its run by a bunch on assclowns. I'd rather get fisted than deal with "shops" like that.

I have 143k on my spyder and to date I had no problems. The owner before me had none either. Just regular maintenence. However most of the driving on the car is done in 5th gear around 3rpm going to and from work daily. So it's most definately a highway driver in my case.

I've heard several people who say they have over 200k and never had problems though. Just regular maintence. In the event that something does go terribly wrong and you don't want to fix it part out the car on ebay. You will most likely get more cash for it that way.

I wouldn't worry too much and I think that show is full of morons. just my 2 cents
